Unable to restore purchases after latest patch

I hate patching on Mac, it never works...

I am running the App Store version and happily installed the latest patch. Subsequently I hit "Restore Purchases" but I am unable to sign it with my Apple ID:

ConnectionManager::invoke::Failed to find service connection url

This only happens for Civ5 and not for any other Apps. I've tried signing in and out of various other services, but it is only with Civ 5.

I now only have the unpatched vanilla version to play :(

Anyone have seen the same or have a suggestion on how to fix this?

I suggest you contact the App Store help desk.. Sorry, I didn't spot your edit message. It's better to include the change in your main text, not just in the edit reason box.
