I'd previously been trading wine for iirc cows and fish with the Incans, and then when I did something to decrease his liking of me, he didn't want to continue the trade. The usual trade screen came up, and because he no longer wanted some lesser items they were red. But equally unusable(clicking did nothing) were the previous items I'd been trading that were still in the offered lower section.
I cancelled trying to make a trade and when I went to try making a new one the items were in the usual listing and red. ("We would have nothing to gain"?)
Basically: Items the other civ doesn't want shouldn't be clickable unless they're already automatically selected because of a previous trade that's no longered desired and up for negotiation. Then it should be possible to stop offering them in the deal.
This is with BtS 3.13 with Bhruic's patch (V1.05 iirc, the one before this morning's apparent update to 1.07).
