Unable to update

When I try to update my game it fails. I have tried several times and have the same problem.

When I downloaded and installed the latest patch from a mirror site, I could not run the game at all and had to uninstall it.

What gives?

Also, while I was playing the game without any updates, it simply shut itself off after 30 turns or so.

I may have a similar problem. After twenty minutes or so -- depends -- my system shuts down and automatically reboots. Happened to me now for about ten times. I did install the 1.52 patch, but no help. Any suggestions?

Just wanted to say my video card (Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT, 128MB) was getting overheated. Installed a big fan inside and the game does not crash anymore now...!
