Undead Civ (Bts) Modular

This is partially the Skeleton civ plus some.

Units included: Acrobat for scout, Ashbear for Explorer, chariot, Manes for Warrior, Reaper on Horse for Cuirassier, Reaper w/sandclock for Axeman, Skeleton Archer for Archer, Skeleton HorseArcher for Horse Archer, Skeleton Spearrider for Crossbowman, Skeleton Swordsman for swordsman, Skeleton Spearman for spearman
Leaders name is Undead.

Now i want to improve and add alot of things to all of these civs i am making, so ideas/suggestion needed, thx.:rolleyes:

Could you possibly include a readme file with the download?

I tried getting the mod to work but I'm not having any luck so far - the civ doesn't appear in the list when I start a game.

Which ini file did you change??(Where)

I modified the "_Civ4Config" file in the BTS folder, changing "Mod = Undead".

It loaded the mod without any errors, but the civ doesn't show up when I start a game. Is there another .ini file I need to modify?

OK, whichever MOD you place it in, you need to change the ini file thats located in the assets folder AREA also. No need to change anything else.:p
 
Ok, I guess I don't quite understand that last part. Here's what I did in detail:


  • I put the undead mod in the mods folder in the BTS folder (C:\Civ4\BTS\Mod\Undead)

  • Then I changed the Civ4Config.ini file to make "Mod = Undead" (C:\Civ4\BTS\Civ4Config.ini)

What else do I need to do? Thanks again for your help.

OK they have a Plug and Play Thread i just looked and they didnt update it with the current 3.13 yet, but anyways,

You need to MAKE a new folder that is called Modules, make this folder in the same place as the Art/XML/Sounds/Python area.

Then click on the modules folder and then make another folder and name it Custom Civilizations, then place all my civs ie, Orcs/Undead/Native Americans etc in this folder.

You do not need to change the MOD = Undead as you listed, thats completely wrong.

Now in the Assets folder is also a ini file, open it in notepad and change the first line there "; Modular XML Loading
ModularLoading = 1"

Thats should do it, if any more problems write again, and thx for asking some good questions.;)

But remember never mess with original files, always make a back-up copy of everything.

I must be taking crazy pills, because this is what I have in my BTS\Assets Folder:

Art Folder
Python Folder
res Folder
Sounds Folder
XML Folder
CivGameCoreDll.Dll

I'm normally pretty good with computers, but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong in this case. Can I get a step-by-step guide on how to set this up?

ok, its in the folder BEFORE those you just listed. Its the one with the MOD name on it.;) I believe it says configuration setting.
 
It doesnt show up... None of ur mods do for me- step by step instructions plox?
 
No- this isnt working for me. I got Modular XML loading on, but nothing happens- Iraq works fine, but none of yours.... Why?

You know you have to manually put them in the custom civ folder itself?
i dont have the assets folder etc included.
And again which MOD are you using??
 
I finally got it working, just in time for Halloween :)

What I ended up doing was loading the module normally once, so the game creates the "undead.ini" file in the mods folder. In that file I also changed the modular loading to 1, in addition to changing modular loading to 1 in the civ4.ini file. Is that the normal way to do it?

Anyway, looks good so far. I'll leave some comments when I get farther into my game. Thanks for your help.
