Unexpected site layout changes, January 9 2025

Hmmmm, Image posting by link seems to be broken

We are aware of this. The page numbers are orange too! It might be some sort of Xenforo change.

The Shades of Grey theme has gone through a few changes as well. The site banner is a thimble now and some of the borders have changed, as well as hyperlinks and the like field. The hyperlinks in particular turn a pure black when hovered over, which is fairly awful for contrast and readability.

Yuck, not a big fan of the UI changes.

I can see via the admin panel that we must have gotten an update of the Xenforo software, and I guess that changed something -_-.

- I fixed the colour of the links in the Civ6 default them
- I'll say that I do not mind the colour of the likes and the page numbers in the Civ6 default theme
- The above broken image link is I think caused by the size parameter and was broken before already. EDIT: Support ticket opened.
- Shades of Grey: I see the issue with the banner. IDK if I can find a quick fix. EDIT: Fixed.
- Shades of Grey: I actually do not know how the borders looked before, looks style-wise fine to me right now.
- Shades of Grey: Hyperlink colour, IDK what it was before. I could set this to anything, but my colour feeling is trash. If you could give me a clue what type of colour it was before, then I'll set it back. EDIT: Temp fix.

Anything else broken?

EDIT:
- Hover link colour also seems an issue in the DarkCFC theme.
- The banner is an issue in the Christmas theme, but I think that was before already the case.
- Modern CFC doesn't seem to have any hover-link colour. Was this before already?

Site now seems to add size parameters to all linked images

Yep. Definitely does.

Yeah, I don't have an issue with the new borders. There's a light green border now for pagination, which doesn't look bad to me.

As for the hyperlinks, I actually don't remember. I'm personally not picky on what it ends up being, just not the current pitch black. The non-hover blue is fine, so the hover could also be blue but maintain the underline?

I am unable to find where this is coming from, and I don't see anyone else complaining.
Due to the issues we've had before in some specific instances I believe this might be specific to our forum, due to either Xenforo v1 for vbulletin legacy.
I opened a ticket with our hosts.

I've for now set it to one of the default grey colours in the theme.
I can change that later still, if necessary.

Could be relating to an issue I've been dealing with for ages (but keep forgetting to report) in that if I copy an attached image from one post on this site into another post the image would display fine in the draft but then when I post it becomes a broken url due to it auto inserting a ALT name value into it that it doesn't seem to like. If it's now auto inserting size values into it (that it doesn't like either) then that just confounds it even further. To fix it I have to edit the new post, remove the ALT section so that it's just a regular IMG link and then it would display properly.

Dragging an image in seems to work fine.

Yup the first time copy and paste or drag of an outside/offsite image is fine as the forum will auto attach it.. but already onsite images are another story, as once you then try copy that image from your first post to another post.. that's when the 'fun' happens.

eg here's your dinosaur image drag selected, copied and pasted by me with no modifications.. looked and worked fine in my draft but once I hit post we end up with this..

If I just drag the image from your post to mine without any copying & pasting it also does the same thing..
