How does unhealthyness adversely affect your city? I know that when I have UNHAPPY citizens, they dont work but still need food and so there is a clear disadvantage. But my UNHEALTHY citizens still work, so how is it bad for your city?

Thanks

André

They're not nearly as bad as unhappy citizens, IMO. With a decent food surplus, they're barely noticeable. So when trading resources, try to swap away healthiness resources before happiness ones.

Well, I'll agree with the trade away excess healthy resources before trading the excess happy resources. Likewise, trade away the animal resources (pig, sheep, etc.) before the grain resources (corn, wheat), because the health multiplier building (supermarket) is a whole lot further down the road than that Granary.

But remember, a net 2 :yuck: means your city has to harvest 2 :food: that gets used for nothing. A net 1  means your city has to harvest 2 :food: to sustain a pop point that is used for nothing. In the end, with the unhappiness, you at least get that pop point.

So don't be letting that unhealthiness get too out of hand.

You don't usually *want* unneccessary population points though. Apart from giving you more votes, pushing you very slightly higher on the power graph and allowing you to whip slightly bigger buildings (all of which are pretty marginal benefits), it won't do anything except boost your maintenance costs.

Unless that pop point can only work some crappy tile or can be only made a citizen then its usually worth it.

That horrid green cloud hovering above my city is highly noticable and more than enough incentive for me to avoid unhealthiness like the plague. Pun intended. :p
