Uninstalling

If you had no other mods installed in CustomAssets before and hadn't made your own changes there, you can simply rename

My Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\CustomAssets

to something else (CustomAssetsRemoved). I say rename in case you forgot about something that you added. If you're sure BUG was the only thing you added to BtS, you can delete the folder.

Unfortunately, since BUG and some other projects like BlueMarble all put files into CustomAssets, sometimes overwriting each others' files, it's not possible to provide a simple uninstaller.

I have BlueMarble and one or two other things, but since I renamed the old CustomAssets folder before installing the BUG mod I just tried moving the BUG mod files to a different subfolder and then changing the name back, and that seemed to work.
Thanks for the help anyway.
It's a shame the BUG mod changes the terrain back to the ugly normal look, otherwise I would have kept it.

You don't have to install it the way you did. BUG runs just fine with BlueMarble. What are the two other things you have installed?

Here's how to see if everything will work together.

  1. Set up your CustomAssets as you originally had it: BlueMarble plus one or two things. No BUG.
  2. Copy CustomAssets (ZIP it or just copy it in Explorer to another folder).
  3. Install BUG.
Then try the game, if you get no interface, BUG is conflicting with the "one or two other things" because they both change the same file. But for sure BUG works with BlueMarble (the pretty graphics).

If it doesn't work with the other things, just delete CustomAssets and replace it with the backup copy you made (as you did before).
