Description of a problem
After completing Fall of Rome scenario, when viewing game replay, once it started I can not do anything to stop it. All buttons (stop, rewind, step one turn etc.), combo drop-down list (power/score/culture), exit screen cross-button, show event location switch - turn "activated" after a while when pressed but don't do anything. Once the replay is over, I'm free to exit the screen... or start it again ;)

Steps to reproduce
Load the saved game, which will be won by points by just one turn, press Enter, wait for victory popup, start a replay.

Non-stop replay

Note: I have no idea if it is (this only?) conquest problem, didn't start any epic game yet.

Even in normal epic games it seems like you can't 'stop' the replay (but you can). You have to hit 'stop' at precisely the right moment. If the replay is in the process of a turn (like showing the events that happened that year), then you can't stop it. Only at the split second when it is in between years/turns can you stop it.

I just hit 'stop' a few dozen times to get it to stop, because it is too hard to time it to hit the stop button at the right moment otherwise.

Thanks for tip, Bamspeedy. I tried and it worked just fine. IIRC that behaved a bit different before Conquests, though. Buttons worked for me, although there was always a bit of delay after pressing.
I also verified that it's the problem with "show event location" preference. If I switch this off, all UI controls work. Seems if a event popup is shown, it temporarily disables them, to the extent they don't even remember if they were pressed in the meantime. And Fall of Rome displays maaaaany popups indeed :)
I'd classify this as bug as this definitely wasn't intended. A minor one, for sure.
