What keeps the Republicans in business is the political incompetence of the Democrats.

Unions have no power so I don't think this will be a problem.

Outspent 25-1

I think it is good thing, slash education and increase taxes model is working. (One of them is lying, pants on fire, If you look at the debate someone is cooking the numbers)
It would be funny if Walker won then got indicted

Yeah, I'm a little surprised they haven't been more active either. They have a credible opponent, but Walker is just drowning Barnett in corporate money from out of state. I know the Obama for America team is doing the on the grounds organizing, but Barnett needs cash, and the DNC didn't help. Disappointing, because Walker is a scumbag.

Wisconsin is still likely go to for Obama....meaning there are thousands of Walker/Obama voters. How the hell does that work?

Mostly people aren't voting on party lines. People don't like walker, but don't have enough reason to recall him. Barrett's stint as Milwaukee's mayor wasn't all that brilliant either. This might be a real devastating blow to unions though.

Three charged in John Doe investigation of Walker aides By Daniel Bice of the Journal Sentinel Jan. 5, 2012 Three individuals - including a former top aide to Gov. Scott Walker - were charged Thursday with felonies as part of the ongoing John Doe investigation into Walker staffers. Tim Russell, a longtime Walker campaign and county staffer, was charged with two felonies and one misdemeanor count of embezzlement. One source said the charges are tied to Operation Freedom, an annual military appreciation day held at the zoo. In 2010, Walker's county administration had asked prosecutors to investigate what had happened to $11,000 raised in 2007 for the event. Russell's attorney, Michael Maistelman, could not be immediately reached for comment. Also charged Thursday was Brian Pierick, Russell's longtime partner and a staffer at the state Department of Public Instruction, and Kevin Kavanaugh, Walker's appointee to the Milwaukee County Veteran Service Commission. Kavanaugh is charged with five felonies for theft and fraudulent writings by a corporate officer. He was the treasurer of the Milwaukee Purple Heart chapter at the time of the dispute over the $11,000 for Operation Freedom. Pierick, 48, was charged with two felony counts for child enticement. He is an office operations assistant at DPI dealing with education for homeless children and youth, according to the agency's website.

Child enticement ?
Theft of veterans charity money ?

Why even bother with a recall election.

In other words, Democrats continue to be incompetant.
More at 11.

Yeah, I think they may be a statistically significant number of those people (Walker sucks, but there isn't a reason to recall him). I believe there are several (several of Walker's close aides are under FBI investigation, and a major scandal may be blowing up soon, his labor legislation was unethical at BEST, Wisconsin is last in job growth), but I can see how others may disagree.

It's not great for organized labor, but they may end up taking back the WI Senate in other recalls, leaving Walker pretty impotent.

If anything, this election is a case study on why we need campaign reform. Walker is straight up bought and purchased by rich, corporate, out of state interests, and nobody has any idea where that money is coming from....only that it isn't from Wisconsin.
Democrats are abandoning that election, calling it nonsignificant so as to not hurt their November chances.

It's all a charade.

I have yet to hear one credible Democrat in a leadership position say that this race is not significant.

Not sure about "unethical", although the not giving 24 hours before he finally called the last vote after the democratic senators fled town could be called that.

Most of the strong anti-walker people are union people or union-family people but out in the rural parts of Wisconsin, everyone's is pretty much pro-walker and his union-busting strategies. Walker's plain stupid really, there were better ways he could have done it instead of steamroll. He's a 1-term governor for sure but his policies will stick around for a while.

I really hate our ways of campaign financing, it really leaves the table open to pure bribery by corporations. All campaign funds for every election should come from public funds and not private donors.

25-1 to spending, would really like to thank the Supreme court for turning the system into an utter charade.

Is that the actual number? I didn't see it in the OP, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was correct.

November is going to be a farce.

Yeah, this has barely started. It would be sadder if the coming horsehockeystorm didn't have the potential to be so damn interesting.

Hell, if the majority really wants a Theoligarchy then who am I to disagree?
