The Burial Tomb is great! Extra :c5happy: and maintenance free. Don't think of it as a Temple. Think of it as an extra Circus which requires no local resource, can be built very early, and also provides +2 :c5faith:.

The Floating Gardens are not so great. I guess a there is a lot of fun in playing the Azteks with their UA and early UU which carries its bonus through upgrades so it is okay for them to have a lackluster UB. I think all of the love comes from Aztek love and not necessarily from the merits of the building. Give the Floating Gardens to India (with it's UA and UU unchanged) and I think it would have been one of the first buildings to go.

Paper maker is simply probably the strongest thing left. Libraries will end up everywhere and that extra gold is huge early and grows as the game goes on, with so many gold benefits being multipliers.

Faith is great early on, but it dies out so quickly...other UB's will give more of an advantage over time.

Gold>Faith, and the Tomb has a penalty.

Burial tomb gives really 3 things, faith, happiness and gold by reduced maintenance. Its really cheap and comes early.

Satrap's court is good, its just a lot of hammers, so the extra happiness will only benefit a few cities since you don't ordinarily build banks in many cities.

Monuments are my first build in every city. An upgrade to that? Yes please.

Weakest of what is left, if I am building a bank I typically don't have happiness issues.

Stele is awsome for faith. Othen an early panteon is a difference between win and loss. (like destart start to get the faith bonus or godess of the hunt, on a 7 camp start)

SC is not usually built in every city and comes a bit late.

Floating Gardens 19 (+1) Every other UB here is made for a wide growth. The only UB to encourage tall play and its a strong one. If used well it can beat over time every other UB here.
Paper Maker 30 (-2) Its a good UB. Great even. The added gold is nice but it doesn't give as much as an oomph to start as the Stelae, Pyramid, or Floating Gardens.Pyramid 41

I don't know which game you are playing, but in Civ5 G&K, if you have a UB that give extra food and thus population, and a UA that gives less unhappiness under certain cicumstances, you have a pretty powerful combo.

The other UBs are good, the Floating Gardens however are the only UB that often will be as good as or better than a World Wonder, and even comes a tech earlier than that Wonder, and of course at 1/3 of the cost.

Satrap's Court: Banks are useful, happiness is less needed at the point they appear though.

We are down to 6 remaining buildings. Which ones will make the final cut for the top 5?

The OP has been updated to reflect the elimination of the Satrap's Court.

Same vote than yesterday. Time for the Burial Tomb to go away from that list.

Burial Tomb is not special, and the fact that it's still up there is embarassing.

Wat is a bit of a sleeper in my eyes, and I want to give it a push because it's a building you generally want to have very much, in very many cities, and the added culture is a very nice little boost to have in one of the game's most essential buildings.

Burial tombs are the weakest UB here. Nothing much to discuss.
Upvoting FG again, because its the only one here supporting tall empire.

Stele is the weakest UB left, since Satrap's Court is gone. Extra faith is nice early, but it's more about equalizing faith generation for Ethiopia than giving more, and faith becomes unimportant far too fast to make it worth keeping around.

Gold, on the other hand, never goes out of style. Gold, happiness, and beakers are the three things you can always use more of, with gold being the most flexible. The Paper Maker is extra gold in every city you make.

Paper Maker 32 (+1) Go Paper Maker. Wats are great, but Stele, Pyramid, and Paper Maker are just the best, with Pyramid probably the strongest.

Floating Gardens 22 (+1) A great UB. And unlike the others which all offer different variations of the wide approach - this UB can be a game changer for the tall approach. The additional food and additionaly locations of use make it amazing. Coupled with Aztecs as a whole and it allows you to get large cities quickly (Culture from barb kills allows you to get through tradition and the additional food modifiers quicker than others)
    Paper Maker 32
    Pyramid 42
    Stele 31
Wat 18 (-2) The additional culture yes is nice. But of the remaining buildings left it comes the latest, only adds culture and by that time the amount of momentum that gives is diluted. It just doesn't give enough momentum eitherway unlike any of the remaining buildings

Pyramid: Science and faith boost early on is huge.

Wat: Comes kinda late and the culture boost is not huge.
