Unit Icon In Tech Tree

I know Dark sheer has managed this:

how do i get my new FULLY WORKING ;) Apache Gunship in the Tech Tree, under what advance it requires!

Is it all done through the pedialicons.txt??

Could you post what was writtin in your pedialicons.txt so I can do it??

Or if its not taht, tehn tell me how to!!
 
its needed on 2 files to work fully

the entry itself should be on civilopedia.txt.. just look at the file to see how the format is and just put add a new section in it..

the pediaicon.txt is where it tells what pcx to load for the entry you created in the civilopedia.txt.... a small and a big one (this i cant figure it out yet as it still shows the wrong pcx for me).. but i guess if you dont really care about aesthetics this part shouldnt matter that much.. its just pissing me off why it refuses to work correctly
 
You misunderstand me.

I have all that working:

IT IS IN THE F6 tech tree to which I am referring, and I think Dark Sheer is the only one to do it correctly
 
interesting... my tech tree shows my unit..of course its with a nasty blue background but im guessing thats related to the problem im having with the small and large pcx not showing up on my civilopedia entry..

I think when you edit the pediaicons.txt it shows the tech, as well... create it on the hacked editor and specify the tech
that should work

As long as you get the icon in Civilopedia right, they will appear on the tech tree correctly!

But I think what he mean was whats the requirement for the Attack Chopper on tech. Hmmm....I would say somewhere on Syntetic Armor to make it available the same time as Modern Armor as the Attack Chopper WAS design as a tank killer :king:
 
No, he knows where to put it but he didnt had the icon in the tech he chose. thats the problem

I've got them in the tech tree. (apache and transport)

Is anyone using the Terrorist unit??

I am using that, but that wont appear in the tech tree....is this because it is using an existing picture (worker??)

As long as you add it to the PediaIcon.txt it should appear in the tech tree. The tech tree uses the same icon as the Civilopedia :king:

i entered that ages ago (seems i did enter it), but it hasnt appeared in the tech tree...that is the only thing not working about all three units i have added, every other one is perfect.

I think what you are short of is the entry in the Civilopedia itself. Somehow Civ3 files refer to the entry in the Civilopedia then refer to the icons in the PediaIcon.txt :(

And to your request on the new flc, I am currently working on a whole new set of animation for the terrorist unit. I just need to set the shadow thing working and I should have the unit by tomorrow :D

are they still looking the same as workers????

I made the civlo entry, and the civlopedia works perfect with the Terrorist. The only thing that doesnt work is the tech tree.

So i dnt think it is that.
