Here's the preview of my new unit, the zapatista guerrillero I just need to animate it and I think I will have the unit in about two or three days.

I'm finally learning to make 3d models.

I took the model from a picture of a zapatista rebel from southwestern Mexico.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!! As you can tell by the stuff I've made, I've been waiting for this unit for sooooooo long. He looks kind of akward but I'm sure it will look find in the game.

Here's tha SW default animation.

There's something wrong with my video driver, and 3dcanvas doesn't let me record the animation in .avi, so I'm using hypersnap to capture the screens. It's going to take me a lot more.

He seems to be drastically out of proportion.
 
Yes, the proportions are a bit off.
Spend as much time as possible on the model before you begin to animate it.
Here is how I do it:
I create the model and polish it unitl I´m happy.
Then I turn the computer off and do something else. After a few hours or day or two I come back to it and I automatically start to polish it even more. This way you never run out of motivation but your model slowly develops and the outcome is much better.

I did not create this one but downloaded it from a reference library:

Looks much better. :goodjob: Is it going to be in all camo or is that blue undershirt for the civ colors....
 
Yes. That new model is much better. I'll use this to replace modern infantry in my mod for latin civs.

Thank you :) but really, have you never heard of one comandante called "El Chapulín" that was always escaping to and from Guatemala in case tha army was getting to close ???
 
Luis G; Your animation looks good, If you want to have transparent shadows try modifying the shadows in your pallete to be like the example at the bottom of this post.
If you can't modify the pallete, PM me with the size of your rendering and I'll post you a blank filc with the shadows.

Esta unidad sera' perfecta para ser la unidad especial de Mexico!

Sween estara' muy contento contigo y su nuevo proyecto. Yo tambien lo usare' en mis partidos de Civ.

Cual programa estas usando para crear el zapastista? La programa que yo tengo para 3D no es muy buena y estoy buscando otra. Parece que la suya produzca bellos resultados.
