Unit upgrade paths (cavalry -> landship)

What about giving them "Survivalism 1" instead (maybe not for AT and Gunships), it seems most people don't like to take it on scouts, it would certainly help the AI to protect range 1 squishier units and it fits their raider role.

Seems like a really random promotion to give them, to be honest.
Also Skirmishers already get march at the third promotion, they wouldn't gain too much from the ability to go for survivalism instead. Would make sense for some unique unit however.

It just that I remember how harshly the hunnic axe-thrower was received, so I'm not sure the range change is going to be easily accepted. The point of Survivalism here is more about defense than HP, it is to represent the difficulty of engaging a faster opponent with ranged capabilities refusing the combat.

Well maybe it's better to wait and try what Gazebo will implement in the next beta.

@Gazebo will you consider giving hunnic horse archer Survivalism 1 at the cost of their free horse requirement, I played two games using a lot of them but they really feel too bland.

Might have to slap one extra movement-point on the Skirmisher line, but generally I don't think this is going to be a problem assuming we get the CS/RCS right.
The Hunnic Axe-Thrower was just odd, it did not get enough of a bonus for the loss of the extra range, and for some reason at least in my games it kept getting destroyed by normal compbows in one-vs-ones (which according to it's stats it really shouldn't)

Actually did quite a bit of Huns, by the time this change first hit, and there is really nothing wrong with their UU, sure it feels slightly bland, but the extra accuracy it starts with along with the no horses requirement gives you the ability to straight up flood the playing-field.

Perhaps (most, maybe not chariots because for their time they were fairly heavy machinery and it might be OP that early) units of the skirmisher line should get the "Withdraw Before Melee" promotion.
