Units to simplify/speed later game

A few to help simplify the later game

Commandos (replace Marines+Paratroopers) available with Fiber Optics (and Flight and Rifling)
Str 28 Move 2
have Amphibious promotion and can Paradrop

Corporate Jet (replaces Executives) requires Advanced Flight and Corporate Branch in city
Cost=250
Air unit, can 'Form Corporations' in any city [with Open Borders+no civic that would stop it] at infinite range

Televangelist (replaces Missionaries) requires Mass Media and Monastery+Religion in city
Cost=150
Air unit, can 'Missionize' in any city [with Open Borders+no civic that would stop it] at infinite range
 
Don't know if they would "simplify" the later game.
 
Well, it would simplify in the sense that you're replacing two (for me, anyway) nice but not essential units with one, and the advanced corp and religion spreading just remove micromanagement - it is slightly odd that if you want to send a missionary or corp agent abroad in 2000, you have to stick them on a ship (for several years!).
 
I agree spreading missionaries and corpoartions should be instant in the late game - maybe costing a little more as a trade off.
 
Airlift them.

Doesn't work for converting/incorporating a non vassal with their own continent

And it should cost more, that's why I put the Televangelist at 150 (40 for Missionary)
and the Corporate Jet at 250 (100 for Executive)
 
You can airlift into any civ's city with whom you have open borders, can you not?
 
At first I liked the idea. However airlifts make more sense. Paratroops launch "on their own" - they do not need a civilian airport. Corp jets and modern missionaries use publicly available airstrips.
 
Armored Personnel Carrier (Armor Unit)
STR 32 MOVE 2
Starts with March.
Can transport Scout, Melee, Archery, and Gunpowder units (2). Can only defend.

The Strength rating probably has to be tweaked. I never liked Mechanized Infantry to be honest - I'd rather see a troop carrier that allows infantry to keep up with the Armor units. Have a late game tech that allows Gunpowder Units to get City Raider.

Hm, I suppose this wouldn't simplify the game much.
