MBT Challenger 2 Current numbers 386 Fastest tank off road. Doesn't have as good as fire power as the Amercian M1 Abrams and the Leopard 2 due to a slightly inferior gun, however some Challenger 2's are being upgraded with the same guns as the two tanks mentioned.
IFV: Warrior
Carries 7 soldiers Current numbers 789
Destroyers
Type 42 Destroyers 9 in service (Exeter, Southampton, Liverpool, Nottingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, York and Gloucester)
Primary use is to protect Aircraft Carriers from air attack (Falklands war being the prime example of this use)
Type 45 Destroyers: One in service (HMS Daring, seven more planned to replace the ageing Type 42's
Same roles as the type 42's just much better, they are designed to be stealthy (but they are ugly ships!)
Frigates
Type 22 4 in service in RN (Cumberland, Cornwall, Campbeltown and Chatham)
Desgined to be Anti sub, however have been upgraded to be general purpose
Type 23 13 in service in RN (Norfolk, Lancaster, Argyll, Marlborough, Iron Duke, Monmouth, Montrose, Westminister, Northumberland, Richmond, Somerset, Grafton, Sutherland, Kent, Portlands and St Albans)
Again designed to hunt Soviet Subs, but upgraded to all forms of sea combat
Attack Subs
Trafalgar Class 7 active (Trafalgar, Turbulent, Tireless, Tobay, Trenchant, Talent and Triumph)
Current attack subs of the Royal navy, were built intended to hunt Soviet Subs
Astute Class (Being built, first in 2009)
(Swifture Class has two ships left but not really worth a mention as they will soon be retired)
Replacement of the Trafalgar Class
Nuclear Missile carrier Subs ( for lack of a better name)
Vanguard Class 4 active (Vanguard, Victorious, Vigilant and Vengeance)
Carries Trident missiles, up to 128 warheads.
Aircraft Carriers
Invincible Class 2 active, (Illustrious and Ark Royal)
Designed orginally with the Soviets in mind and Carried more ASW Helicopters, however after the Falklands war typically 9 Sea Harriers and 9 other aircraft can be on board.
It can carry up to 20 aircraft of any kind (due to the Sea Harriers short run way requirement)
Queen Elizabeth Class 2 planned Carries 50 aircraft of any kind (most likely the new American F35B)
