I've just experienced a rather peculiar problem - possibly a bug - in my most recent game and wanted to check whether anyone else has witnessed this and, hopefully, found a workaround.
In my third city I had a couple of excess plains tiles I couldn't work for quite some time due to food limitations. Come Civil Service, I chain-irrigated said tiles and tried to allocate them in my city screen. Oddly enough, one of the tiles was greyed/fogged even though it had no overlap with any other cities (two other tiles did overlap but that particular one did not)
When trying to click said tile to assign a citizen I simply exited the city screen instead, as happens when clicking a tile that is not part of the fat cross. Apparently it was not considered to be part of the city radius at all, even though it was simply 2 tiles directly south of the city. I've retried a couple of times, to no avail. Note that I can work all other tiles just fine, including all adjecent ones.
I had already encountered another, possibly related quirk: in one of my first games on Warlords I had precisely one source of Uranium within my cultural boundaries. No problem, one is sufficient I'd think but no: even though I had mined and roaded (later railroaded) the tile, I could not build any oil/uranium-based units until research of Combustion and construction of an Oil well. Uranium did not show up among my strategic resources in any of my city screens either.
I'm 100% positive it was connected to my (rail)road network though, in fact there were three routes to the tile in question.
So has anyone else witnessed and found a way around these flaws?
