Upgrade armies?

Once you "build" an army, can you change the contents of the army?

I'm playing the Iriquois. Build an army with three mounted warriors early on. Now I'd like to take those mounted warriors out of the army and put in cavalry. But I can't find an "unload" button.

Now that the game is in the late 1800's, an army of mounted warriors is really not much of an army.

Nope, can't do it. If I'm in this situation, that dinosaur of an army is on the front-line of my next skirmish.

No you can't unload an army. You can disband it for 100 shields, or you can also add a fourth unit when you have built the Pentagon : a cheap way to upgrade.
For example, I usually add a mech inf to my old cavalry army.
