Is there a way for me to upgrade my current version of MS Office (2002) to MS Office 2003 through patches provided from Microsoft, or would I have to buy a new set of MS Office CDs (2003 version)?

Thanks.

I'm almost positive you'll have to buy. MS doesn't want you to "upgrade" anything, without paying them for it....
Drat, More CDs that I need to buy that would end up lying around when I am done installing it. Luckly I only have to dish out $21.00 to buy MS Office at the Tech Desk on campus (My college has a deal between Microsoft and Dell)

There's no significant difference between those two. File format is the same, that should tell you all.

or get openoffice 2.1 which is completely free, just as usable, doesnt need a cd, and oh did i meantion? free

Would Openoffice 2.1 support East Asian languages and fonts?
