Action needs to be taken against the Bush regime. Now.

Wow, I love how people can spin anything as evidence against the "Bush regime". I'm sure this intrusive and evil technique has severe effects on persons, including the original poster, who feels that unlawful action will be taken against him.

All this cataloging and rating on people crossing the borders is a huge overreaction of the bush administration because of 9/11.

There is no point in doing this because it is an extreme measure and even the most extreme measures cannot be 100% failproof.

Even if we were a police state terrorism could still happen.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, as I have issues both ways with it. If it were your job to protect a country though, what would you do?

If you actually think people are arrested because of the meals they order, you need help. People can make a mountain out of any anthill.

Islamic extremists are probably far more likely to keep Halal (The Muslim equivalent of Kosher), than the ordinary guy off the street. Ordering a Kosher meal might give you a (extremely small) tip that there might be connection. It's not like they go arresting everybody who orders a special meal.

But taking such extreme measures is wrong. We should have security, yes but we cannot be 100% secure so we shouldnt even try to be 100% secure.

Suppose you took a liking to hummus and you decided you wanted some with your meal. Should that impact your viability as a terrorist threat?

    Think about it.

But the evil fascist Bush regime! You and I both know they're just doing this to discriminate against people with different food tastes!

Yes, that's exactly how it works. Me ordering hummus is going to get the US government shipping me off to Gitmo. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm not sure if I would classify this as extreme.

I'm honestly just asking myself what exactly is wrong is it?

    Yes, it's fairly disturbing
Yes, people with infamous last names (although no relation) will get trouble (I have to say though, they've always been in trouble. Especially with immigration paper work =/)

But what? Where's the egregious encroach? It sounds to have the possibility of working and deterring 'future' attacks, doesn't it?

Im just saying theres no point in all this hidden information. People are human, and this information can be abused or even stolen by others who arents supposed to have it.

Weve all heard of blunders that the CIA and FBI has done recently.

    Liberals are soft on Bacon!

It should if you can prove a strong connection between terrorists and Hummus.

If ordering a special meal puts you on a terrorist watch list for 40 years, then I think it should be of some concern.

I'm not sure that what I order could really be used against me. Unless you're my heart. Then that info might not be good for you.

Well as another poster said. I dont think we need to be put on profile for 40 years to do it.

    I call that "extreme measures".

On the other hand, you think I'd raise eyebrows in the Middle East if I ordered Bacon? Barbarians I say! :p
