Use of triremes for exploration 4.1

OK, the exploartion aspect, I've been told, is supposed to fall under the Minister of Interior's direction. I'll fully admit, I don't think it's necessary to really direct this action in a micromanaging way - and I actually find it strange that it falls under Interior to tell the truth.

I've been pretty content to have the president run the exploration. Certainly it is something that is tied to the fluidity of turn taking, and I don't see how many would argue otherwise.

Then, I read this in Pellaken's turn taking:

turn3 -moved adverturing boat out to sea... risky, but hopefully we'll hit something

I thought that maybe this did deserve a poll. I'm not sure if anything had been discussed before I joined this game, but it seemed like a good time to revisit.

My thought is that sending a trireme into open water is an unecessary risk. That's just me, but to lose that many shields because we were hoping to find some land seems a shame.

So please let's have everyone vote and see what they think about this.

I would think there needs to be a poll. The President or Interior Minister can handle this. IMO we need to explore the WEST area of our world, it has not been touched by us. Perhaps send that new trireme from Fort Pornstar to the west, it has little to do...

Actually, this would better be handled with the consent of the MOI, the governor of the unit, and the Military Advisor(In times of war)

But this is quite uneeded, the trireme period is soon to be over and this system would be short-lived. That is why a poll would be better suited.

But my above reason could be used later, such as for unescorted carriers and transports. Perhaps when that time comes we can make another poll on that.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying. I know that the trireme period is nearly over, I just thought that this would be a nice guideline for use fo them until then.

I'm thinking that with exploration, I'll just poll for general directions. The actual trireme movement can then be done by the president - provided he/she abides by the general results of the polls (including this one).

If I'm missing something, let me know.

Let's not risk our tiremes for open sea exploration. Leo's coming soon and will upgrade them to caravels.

We don't need new land now to expand, do we? Last I know, there's a whole new mega island to build new cities on - the one with the Roman city.
