Besides the top bar that tells whether and where they are founded, does anyone get any use out of the boxes below that where he cities are listed? it just tells you your cities and some values but other than that it looks worthless to me.

I'd prefer that one column would list all the domestic cities that have that religion/corporation and the other column to have all the foreign cities

Also I think the top bar should tell you how much gold the holycity/hq is generating so you know what the most profitable religion/corporations are.

The Corporation screen can be useful. It will show you how much each city will benefit from a corp, i.e. how many Hammers it will get with Mining Inc., and also how much it will cost the city in maintenance. So you can see at a glance which cities will get the most benefit from having the corp in them, without costing too much to be worth it.

I use the corp screen to tell me if I should found either sids sushi or cereal mills. I choose whichever one give me more food. Religion screen can be used to see if it is worthwhile to build a shrine for a noondominatn religion

While it could be better, the religion screen is quite useful. It allows you, at a glance, to get an idea of how widespread each religion is worldwide and see what non-diplomatic benefits you will get from a religion.

Corporations I don't use, so meh.

I like the idea of seeing which foreigners have what though. But yeah I love the top bar for corps. It's so informitive in telling me which corps I should grab.

Aaaah Communist b******!
Yep, gotta love stat property. Don't let those peasants own anything!
But often, I just lack decent GP production to get the one I want, and/or am in a position to steamroll, so why bother.
