The 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

I signed up shortly after Vancouver won the Games, so that's why I chose the name.

I own a pug. The perfect pet for me. A dog to lounge on the couch eating popcorn and watching TV with. :)

He's Seleucus I of the Seleucid Empire :D

My username comes from the Mongols (my favourite civ) and cows (not my favourite animal, but close enough).

Isn't Seleucus the general of Syria after Alexander the Great died?

Or is the Nicator one different?

stormbind originates from the name of a card in Magic: The Gathering, a game of design and strategy. That card played a pivotal role in my first tournament deck, so I was the user of the stormbind deck and I would announce potentially game-winning cards as they came into play... "... STORMBIND, Game over dude..."

    The name stuck.

Same one, he became governor of Syria and Babylonia, and then united them with most of the Asian territories to create the Seleucid Empire.

Yeah. Nicator means "victorious" or "conqueror". He adopted the name after defeating (completely) Antigonus the One-Eyed at the Battle of Ipsus in 301 BC.

Interesting thread. This topic has popped up from time to time, but for some reason, until now, I've always ignored it. Hmmm.. my loss I guess...

    Raijer: one who rages.
My user name has long been a nickname of mine due to my propensity to... uh.. "express" myself when angry.

I've fortunately mellowed quite a bit through effort, and cuz my girlfriend gets uptight when I cuss at Xerxes' nasty Immortal invasions or other trivial frustrations.:mischief:

I am a Yankee (Northerner to you Southerners, just plain American to the rest), I like the Yankees, and it sounds like a nice assassin name. That and I had a trademark, my Yankees hat, which became like my symbol, calling card.

But now, it sounds better for it's assassin/fighter/general name.
Now if only it could become more famous....and used in conversation....
"William the Yankee could kick William the Conqueror's ass in his sleep!"

From '90 to '02, played/ran a D&D game. Vanadorn was a monk I had played during that time. Was pretty much me, however, I played him as I would be with little regard for caving into socially acceptable roles (which got him/me into much trouble).

Became my CB handle, password, nickname, and alias as time went on.

So hence, the name has stuck.

I liked Star Wars a lot when I signed up. I thought someone probably already had taken Yoda, so I added Power. Should have went with just Yoda...

Because I'm a movie star :cooool:

I was in both Austin Powers and the classic Romeo & Juliet.

I also play a little hockey from time to time.
