I noticed in a game just recently an odd bug.
When you enter the sign mode (by pressing ALT + s) your cursor changes to a square similar to that used in the world builder. You'll notice this square tilts according to the terrain so that the borders of the tile you're highlighting match up with the cursor's edges.
The problem is, it does it over undiscovered land too. By using this it is easily possible to figure out where all the water tiles are on the map because they make the cursor 'flat'. Peaks can sort of be found too because they tilt the cursor so much. I haven't been able to predict much other land but I'm sure someone with enough patience could learn to use this Sign Mode cursor more effectively and to their advantage. It's possible for example to map out an unrevealed coastline by using lots of signs.
So does this qualify as a bug or exploit? If possible it would be great to have this removed in the next patch.
If I recall correctly, the cursor used in the sign mode was only introduced in one of the two patches - v1.52 I think.
Anyone noticed this yet or any thoughts?
