v1.61 bug

Ive just downloaded v1.61, but when I come to initiate the game I get an XML error:
Tag: TECH_COMMUNISM in info class was incorrect
Current xml file is: Buildings/civ4 unitinfos.xml

This occurs a further time when loading, along with:
Tag: TECH_COMMUNISM in info class was incorrect
Current xml file is: Units/civ4 unitinfos.xml

The game then loads, but when I come to play as the Chinese the game crashes.

I have removed and installed the game, and without the patch it is fine, but as soon as i install the patch, all the problems happen.

Does any one have any idea what i need to do?

delete or rename your customassets folder.. or alternatively go inside it and locate which custom mod inside it is not compatible with 1.61 patch

I have renamed the custom assests folder. The game then works fine, but all my modifications are not present in the game.

It seems that the new patch is incompatable (at least with me) with the american revolution mod.
How can I make it compatable??
