v1.61: Tooltip sometimes missing

Hi,

I'm new to civilization iv however I played on previous versions (1 and 2). Anyway, I have a problem with the tooltip that doesn't show up in 50 percent of the cases. Sometimes when a research was finished and the research popup appears, and then when I highlight the text of the new research to see what this research will bring... no popup comes up (avg 50 percent of the time). The same happens when a city finished it's production and I want to see what other unit or enhancement I can produce, no popup to tell me the details about how long it will take and so on (also 50 percent of the time)...
Is there a work around to force that popup to show up? or is this a litle bug?

This is a bug since the beginning. Unfortunately, it has not been caught by the new patch.

A workaround sometimes is to enter your capital (this is the most easy way, since you can get it by clicking on your flag in the lower right corner or simply by pressing F10), and then just changing one of the worked tiles (de-mark and mark again). This triggers a routine which is responsible for the tool tips as well as for keyboard inputs (like when you want to rename one of your units).

Unfortunately, this does not work if you have to maintain your building queues at the end of your turn, so it is advisable to do this prior to the last order you give to your units.

Thx for this workaround. I will try it tonight. In the meanwhile, I think I found out when this happens... I cannot be 100% sure of what I will affirm here, but it seems that this bug happens when you've got more than one building/unit finished this turn or at least a research that finished this turn and a building/unit that was finished to.

An example. If you have only a research that finishes this turn and none of your cities finishing a construction, you will have the tooltip that will show up. The same if only one of your cities finishes a construction that turn, without getting a reasearch completion information.
However, if at least one city finishes a construction and a reasearch was completed or another city finished a construction too, you won't have this tooltip...

But, maybe it something that is already known here...

Do you have 'right click menu' enabled in the options? This caused a problem for me with intermittent rollovers in previous builds of Civ IV but I haven't checked to see if this bug is still present in v.1.61.

It might not be the same thing that you are seeing but turning off this option is worth a try.
