I decided to try the feasibility of producing 500 science as Korea by 1700 and I definitely didn't get there. The China AI is quite aggressive early on so I had to devote precious turns to building an army instead of economy. I was pretty reliant on getting a large population and leveraging the library's bonus of 1 science per 2 pops to build my science but I was pretty unlucky and got three plagues which devastated my cities. By turn 1700 I was producing 300 science. I want to note that science production is pretty limited by what technology you have, the first big boost is when you research universities, build them, and assign pops as scientist specialists. I stopped playing around 1700 so I never researched scientific method for the research academies which can be assigned specialists, making it another boost. I think if I had a bit more luck with the plagues and rushed universities instead of diverging for unit techs earlier on, I might have been able to produce 300 science by 1650, maybe 1600. Just as a benchmark, I was producing 200 science in 1625, 250 science in 1658 with the capital producing 100 on its own, and 300 by 1700.

also I settled Busan specifically to mess with Japan's UHV.

Also I forgot to mention Korea spawns a fishing boat on its second playable turn but there are no immediately available resources for the fishing boat to exploit. I'd suggest adding a maritime resource next to Korea's spawn tile or getting rid of the fishing boat entirely.
