Yes I know - what on earth do I have a computer for other than to play Civ. But sometimes I play Civ and then want to do other things...

When I close either Vanilla Civ or Warlords down - in any way (exit via menus in all the different ways/Alt-F4/click on cross icon in top right on non-maximised screen) - the process persists in the process list (accessed via Task Manager). Terminating it (through Task Manager) gives no problems. It can hang on to quite a lot of memory (several hundred meg).

This is low priority (for me, at least) as even if it took me over my physical memory limit, the fact that the process is inactive means the OS can just swap it out to disk.

I'm running patched Warlords (D2D version) on a fully patched XP box. The same happens with my vanilla Civ (latest patch).

Just wait. The mem usage should decrease gradually. It can take a few seconds or minutes (!) until civ's gone.

...it's taken over half an hour - and internet access seems a bit screwy until I kill the process. As I say, not a priority issue for me as I can work around easily enough, but thought you'd like to know.

Hrm. My French tech tree has nothing to say about this matter -.-
