Varied Nesing Discussions

Talk about anything as long as it has something to do with a present, past or future project and in context of NESing.

I want to talk about Players, I want to ask the Mods: who are usually the good players, what makes them a good player in your opinion, and what are their styles? (Mysteriously Agressive, varied, ect?)

Perhaps in addition to "who are the good players?" I suggest asking: "What makes a good player?"

If I say Silver 2039 is a great player, you may or not agree, but if I add that he is because of X, Y and Z, then the discussion is enhanced.

I have always liked players that were clever and inventive and gave me good material for the update. Sometimes, players did not play particularly well, but did provide great game material and helped add "spiciness" to the game. Nuclear Kid as Spain in BirdNES 1 comes immediately to mind. IIRC it was one of his first NESes.

I agree, I try to be clever in my stories but I don't always have the time...

Also, there is a "Funniest Moments in NESing" thread. Also a few legacies threads while I searched for other old NESes.

Considering Turner has expressed his disapproval with wide-ranging topics, and has previously demolished a user-focused discussion on NESer capabilities, it seems to me that posting this was a really bad idea. Seriously people, use the chatroom and stop playing with fire until they come to a decision on the fate of WWW threads.

I think its a valid question and one new NESers would like to have a discussion in regards to. I for one don't read the 'while we wait' thread because its like an 'old boyz club' and i (as a new player) don't have any idea what the old veterens are referring to 99% of the time.

If this discussion can stay on track, i see no reason why it shouldn't take place. And take place where it is easy to find and easily accessible (here).
