Has anyone ever had this situation. Say that I am at war with the Greeks and the Egyptians, who I am friendly with are also at war with the Greeks. The Greeks offer me a capitulation. If I accept the capitulation I assume that puts me at war with my friend the Egyptians. I can offer the Egyptians a trade to end their war with the Greeks, but I am concerned that without being at war with the Egyptians the Greeks will withdraw their capitulation offer. I would like to accept the capitulation, but do not want war with my current friendly neighbor.

I believe how it works is that under those circumstances, Egypt will suddenly and automatically be at peace with Greece if you accept their capitulation, because they're friendly/pleased with you.

Can't you just save the game and reload if it doesn't work the way you want it to? I know it's discouraged, but for circumstances like these, I feel it's justified.

For the sake of experimentation, I think it should be fine.

Thank you for your replies. I decided that I was ok if the capitulation resulted in war with the friendly civ, and accepted the capitulation. As Sisiutil stated, the result was immediate peace on all sides. Reloading was not an option, since this occurred during GOTM play and I used random civ names to avoid spoiler information.
