I'm surprised there's no thread about this. Self-driving vehicles can't come soon enough.

London attack: Four dead in Westminster terror attack
Three people have died and at least 40 have been injured after an attacker drove a car along a pavement in Westminster, stabbed a policeman and was shot dead by police in the grounds of Parliament.

The dead officer was named as PC Keith Palmer, 48, a husband and father.

PM Theresa May said the attack on Wednesday was "sick and depraved" and struck at values of liberty, democracy and freedom of speech.

The attacker has not been named.

Acting Deputy Commissioner and head of counter-terrorism at the Metropolitan Police, Mark Rowley, said they think they know who he is and that he was inspired by international and Islamist-related terrorism, but gave no further details.

The attack unfolded at about 14.40 GMT on Wednesday when a single attacker drove a grey Hyundai i40 along a pavement over Westminster Bridge, near the Houses of Parliament in central London, killing three people and injuring many more.

The car then crashed into railings outside the Houses of Parliament.

The attacker, armed with a knife, ran to Parliament where he was confronted by the police. PC Palmer - who was not armed - was then stabbed and killed.

The attacker was shot dead by armed officers.

There was no way a person in a car would do much damage to actual mps. So what would happen - as it did - was harm against regular people.

Btw, the Parliament is in the middle of a densely populated part of London, next to an underground train station, and so you can move right up to its courtyard and still not be doing anything illegally.(or used to be like this, when i was living in London).

But yeah, have more legislation to protect the unprivileged mps there :yup:

As I put in my signature earlier today.

Notice on London tube station following incident on 22/03/17

"All terrorists are reminded that this is London,
we will drink tea and carry on"

A terrorist attack? Or just one that really annoying.

A tragedy for family and friends, but more people are lost whenever a bus goes of the road in the Andes. Is this the worst Daesh can do? Pathetic. .

nothing hides the fact that Muslims have so many people with issues . Even if the word issue does not even begin to describe stuff . But kinda follows Ankara's brilliant handling of the crisis with calling how Westerners will not be safe in the streets anywhere . Germany has a practical arms embargo on armour update packs for Leopards after we have all seen they are like paper thin ; and the idea that we might soon be in Civil War with millions of deaths possibility . The State TV claims the evil Hollywood has an holographic image of leadership as a ghost that kills American soldiers and gets killed in return and that's a subliminal attack on the country . And all to be averted , ı don't know , with acceptance of the status quo . Today's problem is the web seems to refuse a website to download stuff , for it's either ends up with .eu or the Congregation have uploaded some video or something , in addition to the other tht acts up and yet ı might soon miss this all . People in the West might not be aware how good they have it , but it might lead to even worse than ISIL beheading or burning people alive .

There is no published evidence yet that he had contact with Daesh.

The 51 year old killer was born in Dartford, which is in Kent, just outside London.
He went to prison in 2003 for a knife attack.

Was it a terrorist attack, a random murder suicide or a combination.

I sadly regret that I am much less optimistic than yourself.

The silver lining, if we can call it that, regarding suicide attacks is that the particular terrorist involved can not repeat that attack.

Self-driving vehicles will be inherently vulnerable to hackers who will turn them into ground based death drones and repeat their atrocities.

Well you are correct not to jump to conclusions.

But he appears to have changed his name:

Adrian Russell Ajao was birth name of Westminster attacker Khalid Masood, 52, police say

to something that sounds to me, although I am no expert, rather more Islamic.
