Virtual Memory....Is there a definitive answer to this question?

OK here is the question:

Should virtual memory be set to:

a) System managed, or

b) custom size

Note: I have 2 GB of Ram

There is no definitive answer.

I think the rule of thumb is (or used to be) twice the size of your RAM, but I don't think a 4GB page file is really necessary. I for one leave mine at 2GB custom size and it seems to be fine. I wouldn't recommend letting windows manage the size because this leads to fragments in your page file because Windows is constantly resizing it.
