Vista

I need some help. I've been playing Civ since it started and now I have purchased a new Dell laptop and set down to play Civ 4 and it will not work. I downloaded 1.61 update and it still does not work. Anyideas please tell me.

Is this 32-bit or 64-bit Vista? BTS has works fine with vista but I don't know if vanilla on its own will. Perhaps you could try the 1.74 patch? Also, compatibility mode might help. However, if you have 64-bit vista, you could just be screwed because vanilla probably wasn't designed for a 64-bit OS.
