Hello again everyone, and welcome to the one poll before the last, focused on the Pacific Isles and the smaller islands of the Indian Ocean (excluding some that have appeared in former polls, like South-East Asian Isles or Madagascar.

Well, I have little knowledge about Oceania people, but if I have to vote for 3, I would choose these: Polynesia, Aboriginals and Maori.

Not counting on Polynesia, I believe the rest have very nil chances of being a civ someday.

I wouldn't mind if Firaxis decides to put Polynesia again in Civ6. I think it's more likely that we will get Australia instead of Aboriginals.

I voted Māori. I don't really feel a strong need to see more than one civ from this region. Hawai'i or Samoa would be suitable substitutes for the Māori.

The Pacific is one region where I can see a lumping umbrella civ being sort of justified, since the Polynesian cultures are closely related and, generally speaking, more worth including as a group than any individual culture. That being said, specific is always better, and I think the Māori or Hawai'i would be suitable representatives of the whole. (Yes, the Māori are not located in Polynesia, but they are linguistically and ethnically Polynesian...)

I guess you are technically correct re the locations of Polynesia & Micronesia etc; but most New Zealanders probably consider NZ as being part of Polynesia in one way or another
