Vote on the best Sid games ever!

Fair enough Ziggy - I was a member already.

Alpha Centauri's joint 2nd at the moment...

Actually, there won't be a new SMAC; Sid Meier doesn't have the rights for it and Brian Reynolds left Firaxis anyway.

I've never understood why everyone likes SMAC. It was ugly, overcomplicated and tedious.

As well as fun, and immersive. It is by far, in my opinion, the most immersive game that Sid Meier has made. You really feel like a faction leader sitting in your tower directing your forces around the map.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I totally agree. I've played every Sid Meier game since the
days of DOS and Amiga. And SMAC is the worst of the lot, with Gettysburg a close second.
It's ugly, pretentious and boring. It could only be of interest to sci-fi-driven techo-freak
adolescents with an obsession with futuristic FPS's.
The best for me was Civ2 with Col as close 2nd. I await Col2 with much hope and
anticipation. Meanwhile I only play RFC now as it appeals to my alt-history inclinations.
SMAC, in my view, wasn't even worth the cost of the packaging.:)

PS If my remarks seem unnecessarily ageist, forgive me. But I have actively hated SMAC for 15 years.

Death to SMAC haters, freedom to the SMAC people!

I guess I support Civ 4, but if you like Alpha Centauri thats okey doke by me too.

But I refuse to register just to vote. So really, I only offer it empty, Ron-Paul-like support.

Civ 4 then SMAC.

If Firaxis doesn't own the rights to SMAC then they need to buy them, because a SMAC 2 would be awesome.
