※ Be sure to use only one of Mod or Modpack. Using them together will cause conflicts and mess up the game.
♥ I was able to make this thanks to hyuckkim(VP Korean), CAYM(34UC Korean), and DCinside Civilization Gallery. ♥
♥ Also, thanks to the creators of the Civilization 5 Korean language improvement patch at Civilization Metropolis, which has been ongoing since September 18, 2010. ♥
I hope this can be a bridgehead for the last two remaining Korean communities.
Welcome!
This is the Korean mod and modpack for VP(Vox Populi) and 34UC(3rd and 4th Unique Components), mods for Civilization 5.
According to the oldest record, this project started with jiin1017's VP_Kr created on October 12, 2020, and was renamed vp_kr by rhprhp-204, which was forked by hyuckkim and became today's vp_kr with the help of Janissaryless Osman, Chelkonggaru, and racraky.
Now that Civilization V has become a classic and forgotten, the number of people working on the project has increased and decreased, and it was managed by hyuckkim, who was the last remaining, until he officially announced a temporary suspension of translation on July 2, 2024, when he enlisted in the military.
However, he continued to translate up to VP 4.15.2 on October 29, 2024, and continued to fix missing parts and reports until December 12.On February 15, 2025, hyuckkim fixed the automatic installer creation on GitHub after a long time, and 8 days later on the 23rd, I started the modpack that merged the Korean mod 4.15.2 into VP 4.19.1, and migrated to version 4.19.1, and continued to make modifications to the current version.
Caution:
- Korean mod requires the original Vox Populi. Please install VP first and then install Korean mod!
- Windows Security and Google sometimes false alarm the installer as a virus. There is no problem if you make an exception in the antivirus or use a modpack (compressed file).
- You can get whichever you want between the mod and the modpack. If you only play single-player, you can get the mod, and if you want to play multiplayer and clear challenges, you can get the modpack. Of course, you can play single-player with the modpack too. If you don't want the installer, you can get it as a compressed file.
Spoiler How to install a modpack (compressed file) ? :
Compressed file is not an automatic installer, So I will provide separate instructions:
You can unzip the downloaded VP4UCK_date.zip compressed file into the Civilization V folder where the Assets folder is located in the path where Civilization is installed. The easy way is to go into Steam as shown in the picture above. Otherwise, you can go directly to the default path. If you did not install it in a different location, the default path is as follows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V
If you do not want the Civilization color to appear when voting, put the files in Assets_vote in the folder where VP4UCK_date.zip was unzipped into the Assets folder. Then, put the Assets folder in the Civilization V folder as described above. If you do not need this, just delete Assets_vote.
If you did it right, it should look something like this. Other than that, the MP_MODSPACK folder, UI_bc1 folder, and VPUI folder should be in that place in the DLC folder.
Now, you can run Civilization V and enjoy singleplay or multiplay. You don't need to press the mod menu in the game. Just play singleplay and multiplay as you would in Civilization V. On the other hand, when deleting, you can delete it cleanly by deleting those three folders.
Troubleshooting:
Spoiler Known Isuues: :
https://github.com/hyuckkim/vp_kr/issues
- There is a problem with the Korean version of GPP Rate (Great People Rate) not being displayed during the Charbag translation.
- There is a problem with duplicated items or dummy items appearing in the Civilopedia.
- There was a problem where you could press the confirm button infinitely after selecting an event option that only occurred in modpacks, but this bug has not occurred even though this problem has not been fixed. It would be fortunate if it disappeared, but if you do encounter this problem, you can proceed by pressing the confirm button once for the desired option and pressing hide.
Spoiler I think multiplayer is running strangely! :
According to the official VP modpack creator, whenever you play multiplayer, you should empty all the contents of the cache folder below. This will allow you to play a clean new game and reduce the possibility of problems.
C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache
Spoiler I'm using a modpack, but some menus are gone! :
Whenever you create a modpack, an InGame.lua file is created in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\MP_MODSPACK\Mods\(1) Community Patch\Core Files\Overrides folder based on the default path. This file contains basic Civilization V UI information, and it is listed in the Overrides (forced overwrite) section, so the UI that should be displayed as the VP EUI appears as the basic Civilization V UI. So you have to delete this before distributing it to complete the modpack.
However, I often make the mistake of forgetting and leaving this out. If this file still exists in the modpack, you can delete it and it will work normally. But, be careful when deleting it because the InGame.Lua file exists in other folders besides the path mentioned above, so if you delete it incorrectly, it will not work properly, so please make sure to check the path.
I apologize for any inconvenience.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Spoiler Where can I get the Vox Populi mod? :
https://github.com/LoneGazebo/Community-Patch-DLL/releases
Here you can get the latest version of Vox Populi mod. The latest version will be at the top, and if you click ▶ Assets in the latest article, it will change to ▼ Assets and the files will appear below it. Among these, the one in the format of Vox.Populi.versionname.exe is the installation file. You can download this and install it.
Normally, you can just keep clicking Next to complete the installation, but if you do not want to install the EUI or want to add 43 civilization selections, you will be given a choice along the way, so you should not just click Next. If Civilization V is not installed in the default path, you will be asked to select the location where Civilization V is installed at the end, so you need to find where you installed it.
Spoiler Where can I get the 34UC (3rd and 4th Unique Components for VP) mod? :
https://forums.civfanatics.com/attachments/my-4uc-folder-zip.713557/
You can get the modified version of 34UC v88.10 for VP here. Unzip the file you got and put the entire More Unique Components for VP (v 88) folder into:
C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS
Spoiler I want to delete mods and modpacks! :
Mod installation path: C:\Users\Your account name\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS
Modpack installation path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC
Mods and modpacks are installed in that path by default. The names of each mod are listed, so you can find the mod you want to delete and delete it. For modpacks, you can delete all three folders: MP_MODSPACK, UI_bc1, and VPUI. However, UI_bc1 and VPUI are shared with VP mods as well as VP modpacks, so if you want to use VP 'mods', you can leave them without deleting them.
Spoiler I want to play Communitas map with modpack! :
This is a problem that also exists in the original VP's modpack, You cannot use the map built into VP. This is only possible if you copy the maps in VP to the maps folder in Civilization V. You can also enjoy other maps by putting them in the map folder of Civilization V.
1. Copy all the map script files in the path below (the map script folder of the modpack) based on the default installation path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\MP_MODSPACK\Mods\(2) Vox Populi (v 17)\Mapscripts
2. Paste all the copied map script files in the path below (the map folder of Civilization V) based on the default installation path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\Maps
Spoiler I want to use IGE (InGame Editor for VP) ! :
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/ingame-editor-for-vp.679650/
Currently, the last update for IGE for VP was stuck in 2023, so it is not working properly on the latest version of VP.
https://forums.civfanatics.com/attachments/ige_api_data-zip.711758/
Replace the IGE_API_Data.lua file with this one.
https://forums.civfanatics.com/attachments/ige_api_terrain-zip.714924/
And replace the IGE_API_Terrain.lua file with this one.
Spoiler Want to create your own modpack? :
https://civ-5-cbp.fandom.com/wiki/Creating_a_Modpack
If you want to create your own modpack, install all the mods you want to make into a modpack on a cleanly installed Civilization V and follow the instructions in the article above.
And before creating a modpack, you should disable all the advice-related functions in the Civilization V game settings. The FireTuner's Lua console window will endlessly spam errors saying that there is a problem with pPlayer in the TutorialChecks.lua file, so you cannot input the console itself.
And when you type CreateMP() in the console window, you have to type it somewhere that is not visible because you cannot see what you are typing. Click once on the black console screen, press the Tab key once, type CreateMP(), and press Enter. It will proceed automatically. Just wait until it says done at the end.
If your modpack has a mod that modifies the UI, there is one file that you need to delete from the completed modpack folder. Go to the path below based on the default path and delete the “InGame.lua” file.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v\Assets\DLC\MP_MODPACK\Mods\(1) Community Patch\Core Files\Overrides
Spoiler This mod is a Korean translation, why did you post it on the English forum? :
I remember the VP localization project was stopped. I thought maybe the Korean translation could help other translators who want to translate the latest VP. Also, I wanted to leave a record and let you know that there are still Koreans who play VP.
Spoiler When I open modinfo, it says it's a beta version? :
As mentioned above, there are still some bugs and untranslated parts, and I think it needs confirmation from hyuckkim who has not yet returned from the military, so I am maintaining the beta version on my own.
