I do what I want, whenever I want. That's the only author's privilege.
Anyway, soon or later, almost all modmods will have their vppi icons. (Sooner if G doesn't make promo changes twice a month)
Just be patient. I'm alone to do it. VPPI 1.8 is hundreds of hours of work already. The most complicated is to reach the highest standard ever seen.

Edit : Extra icons are there to be assigned to any Promotions not supported yet

Yeah G did some big changes lately, I had the same with Promotion Overhaul updates. GL&HF.
 
4 new Promotions in VP(10-10). Consequently, 4 new icons ( Boarded I, II III and Minelayer ) must be added to VPPI (next release in few days)

For now, let's say that Boarded I, II and III are acceptable with the "Eight Virtues of Bushido" icon.
However, Minelayer can be replace favorably with one of the Bonus icons (20 available in VPPI 1.8)
The "internal name" is PROMOTION_MINELAYER

Below, OPTION_VPPI.sql make it

Copy (and replace) it in \VP Promo Icons (v 1.8)\sql\

Is it savegame compatible?

Since the beginning and for ever VPPI is savegame compatible.
You can load VPPI or not whatever the version and whenever you want. Freedom yeaah :w00t:

As always for any mod list change, just make sure to delete all files in \Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache\

You are right. I'll think about that in january. Very very busy currently.

The best to do for now is to upload on Community Patch Project copy screens with nice situations where the new icons show how there are useful (not only beautiful)

I've made a modpack with your (great) mod, and one user reported "Unable to load texture [VanguardPromos32.dds]" when encountering a barbarian near the coast. Do you think it is a missing texture from your mod, or does it probably come from one of the other mods I have?

VPPI doesn't call VanguardPromos32.dds neither any texture
Communitas Expansion Pack does

It adds a "Created" promotion to each unit, though, which sorta contributes to the clogging of promotions, unfortunately, albeit only slightly. Also, the icon that is chosen for it with VP Promo Icons is pretty bad and too "flashy" so I used the awesome custom promo functionality of VP Promo Icons to change the icon to something more bland. So I dunno whether I'll be using it again; I like that I finally get GG and GA that fit with my civ but the extra promo thing is not so great.

VPPI 2.0 is coming soon.

By the way I'm trying to adress the promo icon problem coming with CIV-Linked Great Generals (v 11)
PROMOTION_CREATED is assigned to all units. A promotion doing nothing actually !
What can be a promo icon telling "I'm there for nothing, forget me" ?

So far, the best strikly nothing icon I "made" is :

What do think about it ?

It could be fine to have it at far left instead of far right.
I tried <OrderPriority> </OrderPriority> with -1, 0, 1 or 9 but it doesn't change anything
Does any of you have an idea to force it far left?

Sorry, no clue how to do that...I don't even know where the code for adding those promo boxes is, but it's still better this way than it was before :thumbsup:
 
As it's shown above, the result is not perfect enought to be part of VPPI officialy.
This "No Icon" icon will go in extra_VPPI_icons then
Ummm...I just tested it and putting OrderPriority 99 like this in ~\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\CIV-Linked Great Generals\SerialEventGoodFiles\Promotion_Created.xml makes it go to the left for all units currently on the board, with the exception of Zeppelins and Helicopters, but for those only one promo is further left (Ocean Embarkation), which doesn't really matter because these units have so many promotions that the icon won't be visible anymore anyway.
