So who's posting the list on the SGOTM02 board if that's how it's done. Since you are the "Listmaker" Chris why don't you. LOL Hey you can watch both threads too cool.

I don't think so, Tim. My guess would be that most of your cities will grab a religion somewhen. And by then - given that the variants also don't allow to switch to any state religion - you grow by 1armstrong said:Working with "mini" cities is interesting, however, in that resources really don't matter. Most cities will be, what, size 10 at the biggest? You won't need much happiness/health. Cities could be fully "mature" in the BC's!

Whereby the correct # of x is obviously depending on the chosen game speed ...

But me will be lucky to lurk in this SG ... if I do find the time while lurking in the SGOTM2.
BTW .. the trouble with two teams is in there is that I have to decide on where I want to lurk.![]()
Regards to y'all, .
This will arise the need to raze or - in the first place - not conquer any foreign cities to where your second religion accidently has spreadarmstrong said:Thinking about things, even running Theocracy isn't going to cut it, because captured cities will have culture due to religion... you need a state religion that's only in the your capital.

AFAIK - and I definitely am a culture and religion-orientated player - the gain of culture from religion in cities works as follows:namiliaM said:I think a religion only produces culture if it is your State Religion.
Holy cities ALLWAYS produce culture => Raze
I would be surprised if that is so. But I'm not sure. AFAIK religion in captured cities works exactly the same. But if you find out something else Maquis ... please let me know.Maquis said:What I think I have found in playing around. if you capture a city with religion, that religion will no longer produce culture. I want to confim this, and verify that it works also with holy cities.
AFAIK open borders has nothing to do with the spread of a religion. If you are connected to the trade network, a religion can spread to you.Maquis said:No open borders with a civ that has religion (until Theocracy)
You are 100% correct, dot. A religion in a captured city will produce culture, if that is your state religion or you have no state religion. And further, you cannot switch to a religion unless one of your cities has that religion.dot said:I would be surprised if that is so. But I'm not sure. That's true, CT. However, I can't recall ever seeing AI Missionaries early in the game. And then, the AI tend to target their own cities first. My guess is they will be running Theocracy before any Missionaries start crossing the border.ChrTh said:The significance of Open Borders in the spreading of religion is the ability of the AI to send missionaries to your cities.
Being a Holy City has nothing to do with it. Being captured or not is also not relevant.namliaM said:Oh and I can confirm that a captured holy city, if its not your state religion... DOES NOT produce any culture what so ever...
