"What is the purpose of cilvilization?"

"To build something that would stand the test to time..."

    ------------------------------

    Version: Warlords 2.08
    Level: Monarch (!)
    Civ/Leader: I'm up for negotiations.
    Map: Up for debate
    Random AI
    Speed: Normal
    Game end date: 2050.

    Variants:

"X civs on a map? Bah, we can fit at least 1 or 3 more"

Victory Condition: Mastery. This will be the major difference with this SG. Unlike other set victory conditions, this works in the following manner.

Anyway, credits to Sevo and to Thorn for updating this for Warlords.
The link to download the mod is here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4143 It isnt a big file.

Anyway, I'm curious to see how we are going to hanlde this multi-facted situation. Looking for a Team of 4 or 5. Likely 15 turns each or so, and then down to 10 in industrial age.

    1 - Vra
    2 - Giaur
    3 - Admiral Kutzov (Tentative)
    4 -
    5 -

Cool! A point was made btw, about using normal speed instead due to the length, so, I'll make that change...

A few things need to be decided btw...first of, whatg map size do we want for this?

I have a feeling Large might be better, so we don't have to involve ourselves in too many landgrabs.

    As for winning strategy...

We need to launch a spaceship by the end, that's a given.

We need a few Cultural cities, perhaps 1 or two, as the AI has trouble getting those.

As for religions, do we want to found one? Or capture one? I personally would like to found one, so we can use OR to get buildings and culture up quickly. Not to mention getting allies.

I suppose it comes down to what leader we would like to use...Augustsus?

Random leader on Monarch...Aaaah. I'm in for that bit of craziness if all else are.

As for game speed, I rather normal as this is going to take time as is. Normal map size is cool though.

    Is this ok?

    Version: Warlords 2.08
    Level: Monarch
    Civ/Leader: Random
    Map: Up for debate still.
    Random AI
    Speed: Normal

As for map, perhaps continents? Mabye 2 or 3?

    Why CivLeader Random?

edit: Ok. Might be random, but I do not want play Ceasar f.e. His UU is killing everything (and killing me).

Why? For an extra level of challenge I guess. If we were to select one, someone with an Organized, Financial or Industrious trait would be my choice so we can afford to do some early bashing if needed.

And, we'll go with four, and if someone else is up for it when we're in progress, cool.

looks good. standard pleez. If we don't want to do random leader, how 'bout Ragnor? yes, I'm insane. :crazyeye: Nobody ever plays as Ragnor.

Really, I'm flexible on the leader. ;)

And go with 30 turns for the initial set. Takes a while to get that worker up.

    2 or fractal; your choice

Standard it is...And, as for Ragnar, I've had my fill of him.

    *points to WOTM*

How about FDR, and America? Good traits, And I've never seen a SG with him.

Hmm. I might be up for this. And just to point out, if you want an America SG, then look at RB20(i think) Miller Time. They had an insanely large map (142 settlers!!!!) and won a time victory. Yeah, I'll be in on this if you have space.

Cool, this can get going now. If anyone else wants to join, we'll be happy to have them I'm sure.

    Version: Warlords 2.08
    Level: Monarch
    Civ/Leader: FDR - America
    Map: Continents (2)
    Random AI
    Speed: Normal
Number of added random AI: 2.

We'll go with these and I'll roll in a bit.

And Miller Time's a cool SG, but we still have FDR to ourselves. And a good thing too, we'll need his traits in this SG.

    --------------------------

    Roster:

    1 - Vra
    2 - Giaur
    3 - Admiral Kutzov
    4 - Galileo44

Happy to take one or two more.

I'll start off so...the turns will be 20/15/15/15/10...

Turn 0: Well...folks, get out the axes and the nets! Seeing all the food, and a total lack of hills (okay, one) I can see we'll likely be moving the capital. I also see we have a chance for an early religion with those seafoods, so I head for Mysticism over Mining.

    Turns 1-2: The warrior explores...

Turn 3: Hmm, it seems the tribe heard our plea and have had pity on us. This saves valuable time on the way to BW.

    Turn 4: We find elephants...

Turn 5: We find another pride.

Turn 6: We find two more prides.

Turn 7: We see a tribal hut in the distance...

Turn 8: Hmm. And this explains rather well WHY we have so many elephants! They belonged to this tribe...

Turn 9: In comes Meditation and this protective guy. Bah, protective. Anyway, I decide to shoot for Hinduism just to be sure we get a religion. Due in twelve.

Turn 10: As the Kublai scout is around, I scurry to the hut just outside our city...

Turns 11 to 16: Yawn, yawn, yawn, yawn, yawn, yawn.

Turn 17: We grow to size two, and pick up 48 gold in the tribal hut.

Turn 18: More elephants! To the east this time...

Turn 19: Work Boat comes in, I set it to work, and we grow to Size 3.

Turn 20: My fears are validated - Buddists now roam the earth. I decide to play two mroe to see if we get Hinduism...

    Turn 21: Hold your breath...

Turn 22: A warrior team survives a wolf attack, citing the role a small mouse (which someone chose to nickname Chuyia) in surviving the attack, a polytheistic religion is formed...

    And, our ending lands.

This was an amazing turnset - 20 turns of techs we need we don't need to research are always cool. Now, to leverage it into a permanent advantage....I'm not good at dotmaps - could anyone try to set up one?

We need to consider how exactly to approach this one, so let me lead off the discussion. Now that we have a religion, we can probably afford to go on a bit of a land grab, then do alot of cottaging. We are going to need to build our own wonders (and with his traits we can) so, I would say after BW, get out a worker or two, improve the land, and start settling the area fast.

    Giaur - it's yours for 15!

Here is my attempt at a dotmap:

Best option is blue dot, some hills, food, and elephants. Red dot grabs more elephants and some grassland being fed by pigs although much territory is as yet unclear. If there is a food resource in the yellow box area, then a cottage city using all of the grassland to the east of the capital will be good.

Sure! You can take 5th spot in the rotation.

    So...

    1 - Vra...dreaming of El Dorado...
    2 - Giaur...Scribbling away under the moonlight...(Just Played)
3 - Admiral Kutzov..."Om"...(Up but waiting for report)
    4 - Galileo44...stargazing...
    5 - The Sansman...meditating...

I'll look at it as soon as I can and see our present situation.
