It's true, but because I picked random map type I had no way of knowing that there were any other civs on the same continent besides the ones I'd already found.

The NC was done at turn 85, he jumped into the HG next, then the stone works. The settler is 2 turns away @ turn 104, putting it done at 106... with all the workers and 20 turns that other city could be well on its way to paying itself off.

Well, while you played it quite well, why doing the trade before attacking?

Cheap shot, only the AI is allowed to do this! ;)

It was dodgy, he sold resources before he attacked, like a newb!

    Yup. ;)
Though to be fair, Tabarnak has also used resource selling abuse in pursuit of improbable early conquest goals. It doesn't stop me from being really impressed with him.

I see you were very excited when you got that Danish city
I didn't think things like that were possible on Deity either.

    Nice.

I'm loving watching this. Cannot believe your warrior/spearman/swordsman bum-rush worked :D

As for map type, it sure looks like Fractal to me.
I've played Fractal more than anything else, and it makes wonderfully random and usually awesome maps like yours.

Fractal isn't one of the choices for random maps, though I should give it a try next.

Do you plan on a B17 to stealth upgrade for the extra promotion?

    Oh really?

What are the map options random can choose?
I didn't know there were limitations.

How do you know which ones can be selected when going random?

I really want to play America when i finally get my current Iroquois game over with as i think the cheap tiles + extra sight would be awesome from when i played them for a bit in MP, and watching you and others with them.

I think only the core map types, Continents, Pangaea or Archipelago, can be picked when selecting random.

Yes, it says this in the description for the random map when you select it.

I started a thread a few months back in the Ideas & Suggestions forum about this (I suggested a drop-down box with check boxes where you could choose which maps you wanted the computer to randomly select from). IIRC, the random option says something along the lines of "chooses a map randomly (not Earth)."

So if you hadn't discovered those Natural Wonders would you have proceeded to found your 2nd city anyway and brave the unhappiness?

    Nice game!

You are aware that you do have an extra Ivory in Aarhus and that you can sell it (getting it from Genoa)?

I was a bit frustrated how you avoided Trapping for that 4 happy :D

So, when can we expect part 3? Also, can you upload the initial save to the first post so we can give it a try as well?
