Walmart Bonus?

So I preordered the game online with Walmart so I could get the Americas bonus map. But I don't have the bonus. I've heard that other places like Gamestop packed in a code, but I didn't have one of those. I've also heard about looking in your DLC tab on Steam, but that's blank too. Any advice?

Did you have to give them your email address when preordering? You might want to check if you got a mail with the code in.

I haven't. The only emails I got were standard "Confirming your order" email from them and one from Paypal.

I emailed Walmart and they said "Durr, that's not listed in the item description." And I emailed them back with, "Um, yeah, it is. Right there in the fourth bullet point, jerk." Plus a link to the civfanatics page that lists all of the retailers with their bonuses, including Walmart. They sent another fairly generic email back just now that said basically "we're looking into the matter"

I bought the game from Walmart (the store), and inside the box it was a flyer with an code to input on steam to get the Americas mod. I'm guessing you went with a digital download, so I don't know how that is done, but yes Walmart should give it to you.

Edit: I heard the first expansion thats supposed to come out at the end of the year will have all of them (or atleast the Montezuma race).

i bought the CE at walmart and didn't get the Americas Map Pack.

perhaps this is a problem with the CE?

No, I, like Sim2er, bought the Collector's Edition. It came through FedEx. Thanks for the info, though. You say you bought the regular version? It seems it is just the CE edition that's the problem.

Yes I bought the regular version. I wonder on the CE box does it say that it comes with bonus scenarios. What I'm thinking is the CE is just general and they send it out to all of the places and don't have specific scenarios associated to them, whereas they send all the "Americas" to Walmart etc.

I got a call and an email from Walmart today:

We are writing to follow up with our phone conversation. We have finished the research regarding the Cradle of Civilization Map Pack: The Americas. The Cradle of Civilization Map Pack: The Americas is a packed in code that is special to Walmart's SKU for the standard edition for Walmart and walmart.com.

The special standard SKU has a callout on the front (both o-card and liner), and the card in the
inside.

If the item doesn't have the callout, it's possible that it's from a later shipment; as this was launch quanitity only, while supplies last.

[my name], we would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

If no further action is needed and you feel your issue has been resolved then no response is necessary.

I think the call said basically the same thing. Notice it says, "is a packed in code that is special to Walmart's SKU for the standard edition for Walmart and walmart.com." It doesn't mention the collector's edition. Though their page for the CE DOES mention the map pack and even has a screenshot. It's just listed in the product features and doesn't say anything about being a preorder bonus. So I think the deal is that Walmart is just a bunch of dumbs and doesn't know about what it is they're selling. It's not a huge loss that I don't have the map pack. I'm just irritated that I sold out and broke my personal boycott of Walmart to get something they promised me, and then they messed up and didn't give it to me.

I got my copy from walmart it came with the code I put it in and cant figure out how to download the map.Not happy with steam so much!

Click on the Games menu, then activate a product on steam.

Or if you dont want the America map, you could give me your code
