Has anyone had any luck with this strategy?? I have tried it many different attemps get horses ,chop/whipping 10- 15 war chariot then rushing nearest civ only to be met by mass spear or archers- esp protective civs- and being turned back/decimated time after time. Any tips?

Yep, though you really need to do it with your first city, or at most two cities. If you expand more than that, you'll definitely face spears and that'll pretty much end your rush opportunities. Protective Archers on hills are also going to cause severe problems, so you may not be able to make it work against some targets.

If you're talking about the egyptian UU and not regular chariots, it should be a piece of cake. WCs are much better than normal chariots. But if you haven't attacked by 1500BC you're too slow. Since egypt starts with wheel and AG, your starting tech order should be AH> mining> BW. If horses show up in your BFC then build a warrior for MP in the cap, otherwise a settler to grab them. 2 workers are needed to road and chop. You can get away with 1.5 WCs per defender on level ground, 2 for hills, 2.5 for pro on hills. Make sure you scout around their capital, and have you first chariot ready to pillage any copper on the first turn of your attack. Attack their capital first, which will take away most of their ability to produce units. Figure 3 archers defending. If you can get to writing before your attack you can get OB and scout them out in detail, but this isn't always possible. Some people build a rax (I do) and some don't. In my current offline game as Ram I took 3 barb cities on level ground and didn't lose a single WC - their first-strike immunity really helps when attacking archers, along with their 5:strength: OFC.:mischief:

WCs are awesome, but any rush really depends on the speed of it, since every rush unit have an eventual counter unit (Axes/Chariots, Swords/Axes, Chariots/Spears). Just in every other war in civ, overspending while getting what you what do get done done is infinitely better than underspending, but not getting done what you want to get done.

If you don't know - look for messages of people going into slavery. Thats means they can start hooking up copper. Why not attack them before that and choke off the copper until you have enough units to take the cities?

If you attack soon enough, Copper is a non-issue. Besides, if you take their Copper grid off, they will either 1) Find Horses/Iron/More Copper, or 2) build a LOT of Archers. The element of surprise is not be underestimated.

Yeah, I hate archer-spam from an early choke. But I've done it on occasion.
