the very smart US President has been told there is natural gas offshore . He will take his share . Europeans have been weaned off Russian gas . Mediterranean will replace it to stop Europeans really breaking with the US yoke . This is strategic reality and stuff . How about being a man about it and whatnot ?

I don't think Trump understands why this Gaza revitalization won't work and it's probably not the reason he and his opponents think.
Trump says Gazans will be happier elsewhere. I don't doubt this is true on the surface level, given the destruction there. But I think remaining in Gaza gives them the thrill of collective punishment. Moderator Action: Warned for trolling. The_J An attack on one there will be an attack on all. And an attack on that front is a firm base in which to counterattack. Just so, rallying any sort of resistance (including external support, weapons, money, etc.) is that much easier if they are concentrated. Something you will not get if the Palestinians become more diffuse throughout Israel-proper.
No doubt Israel's critics say the Gazan people are sick of being contained, but I'm not that sure; I really think it works both ways for them there...

I mean, definitely not impossible to deploy US troops there. It won't accomplish anything except getting them killed in ambush battles with the Al-Qassam bois, though.
He campaigned in 2022 almost as a Bernie-type guy, then had a stroke that probably damaged his brain, and now he's basically a Republican. As you may know, he was also the only Democrat in the Senate to vote to sanction the ICC after Republicans refused to adopt any of the Democratic amendments to that bill. Those amendments were stupid, but Fetterman thinks supporting Israel is a higher calling than supporting his fellow Democrats in the Senate.
