I mean, definitely not impossible to deploy US troops there. It won't accomplish anything except getting them killed in ambush battles with the Al-Qassam bois, though.
He campaigned in 2022 almost as a Bernie-type guy, then had a stroke that probably damaged his brain, and now he's basically a Republican. As you may know, he was also the only Democrat in the Senate to vote to sanction the ICC after Republicans refused to adopt any of the Democratic amendments to that bill. Those amendments were stupid, but Fetterman thinks supporting Israel is a higher calling than supporting his fellow Democrats in the Senate.
You know what wouuld happen if such a deployment was done, and everyone else knows. The senatops on the AIPAC pay-list surely know.
That is why I cay: it can't happen. Your inability to figure out Trump in other matters is due to you believing him a fool. He was inexperienced at politics,
in the past, but never a fool. In this he is souing his usual act. He has said the unmentionable,
again: if the US sould back Israel so much, it sould put its people and treasury in the line of fire. And pay even larger costs for the wars there. Now the ball is with that body where a majority of members very much likes receiving money from AIPAC. But now t
hey must either commit to war openly, or shut up about supporting Israel at all costs and under any circunstances. The risk of political blowback from participating in a war there, openly, taking casualties, is too much for all those representatives who must approve the war and the budget. They want to keep getting elected.
What Trump achieved was making lots of people say "wait, that is a dangerous, lousy idea!" Something that was unmentionable in those circles up until now. One of his usual tactics: say the unmentionable to get a desired reaction.
There may be some crazies among them approving of another
"peacekeeping" in lebannon thing. That one you explained now may be crasy enough, from what you say. But It won't have enough support, won't happen.
