Got a new idea. A global map where the seven tribes are different religions.

Protestants
Catholics
Buddhists
Muslims
Hindus
Shinto&Taoists
Athiests


I haven't the faintest idea how to implement it over 2000 years so I'm just putting it up as an idea for anyone to use.

There are dozens of minor religions which are more numerous than the jews. Also, you can't be converted to a Jew, you have to be born as one - so it can't work for this idea.

Perhaps the Muslims can be split into Sunni and Shi_te

I think this is a very good idea. I think you should make the barbarians *polytheists*, like small tribes in Africa, North America and Oceania, but have a different civ for the Aztec-Mayan-Incan civilizations together. Also, think about the protestants, it's logical to have them in, but they didn't really show up 'till the 16th century. Too bad a shism is impossible to create by event.
Also I advice you to strike the atheists, or use them as barbarians and the Polytheists as a tribe. Something like this:

Christians
Muslims
Buddhists
Hindus
Taoists
Polytheists
Yucatan

Off course they'll all have their special units like priests, imams etc. (diplomatic abilities), but also a special military unit like mammelukes, jaguar warriors, longbowmen or paladins, etc., etc.

That would be great kobayashi but making Icons and there abilities would be hard.You could have and event where each of thier gods starting fighting.The different religions would have to build a great works to thier god and only when they completed it the god would turn loose to destroy all who stand in thier way

Nope. As I stated at the beginning, I'm just putting up the idea for someoneelse to try. Haven't got the background knowledge nor sources for units.
