So I'm in the modern age (immortal) and every turn "I get another leader has opposed your war" message
It's now up to -9 and the war was starting at +3.
It feels like the game is cheating. A 12 change in war support in 8 turns.
There is only 1 other leader left, the one I am at war with, and their influence income is 26 per turn.
The first one opposition is 180 and then it rises at like 60 per extra instance.
That's 6840 influence spent on this in 8 turns.
I'm OK with her have a few hundred saved up or perhaps a 1000, maybe even 2000. But 6840?
No way.

Are you sure it’s not being spent by the other AI players? Maybe they hate you, but aren’t willing to get into a war with you so instead they’re spending influence supporting the one AI player you are currently fighting.

Feel like these types of mechanics are always shallow and not fleshed out. In my personal experience.

Have you been razing settlements? That'll push war support against you. I believe eliminating civs might also affect it, but don't quote me on that.

Funny enough I have had ridiculous amounts of influence like that in games. Think about it, what is she spending it on if you are the only one left and you are at war? You also get bonuses for people spying know you etc, or get penalties if you are raising cities.

I had the AI capture one of my cities for the first time yesterday, and I think I received 600 or 900 influence points as compensation (modern age), so if you’ve been winning the war, that could explain it.

Wow, not had an AI take one of my cities. I was taking cities, so I guess that would explain how the AI was able to afford this
