Here's the activity log. Red means collateral damage was issued, dark red means we lost a fight, black means we won the fight. There were 2 WE's involved in this fight. While defending, your ainwood was destroyed by a Zulu Impi! While defending, your Catapult was destroyed by a Zulu Chariot! It looks like lots of red, I know. But we have plenty of back-up to finish the job and take Ulundi. The rest of the Spanish cities will just be mop-up work.
So the total win - loss ratio: We lost 4 Axemen, 1 Maceman, 1 Spear, and 1 Catapult Spaniards lost 8 Cats, 1 War Elephant Spaniards are left with about 4 injured Axes, 1 injured Impi, 1 full-strength Impi, 1 injured Chariot, 1 injured War Elephant, and 2 injured Cats, for a total of 10 units that will all be easy clean-up on our half of the turn.
IIRC they had 10 Cats total so if we killed 8 then its pretty much over for them right? The rest of their Army is obsolete units.
They had 3 cats withdraw from combat and I think that is pretty close to everything they have left as far as catapults. It looks like they threw 9 cats against our main stack, then sent in their first War Elephant only to have it lose to our injured Maceman. Then they switched tactics and threw their last two Cats against our weaker stack 1 tile north, and cleaned that up since it had mostly obsolete units. All the named units that died on the bottom of that list were axes and one spear. The Maceman that died was the only modern unit in that second stack.
Yeah, unless the Spaniards have one last city hiding up in the north out of our sight somewhere, then this must have been the city of Chinook. That means that the Spaniards should be officially and completely eliminated after we finish our turn. RIP, your antics will be missed.
So, General Bistrita went and took Nobamba. Only 1 Knight lost. Just as we suspected they were about to empty the city to the advancing French. There was a french Knight staying just outside the city, ready to take it after Spaniards empty it for them. I wonder if Plako made a note to those 2 teams. Anyway, now is time for diplomacy.
I've given this situation some further thought and come to a conclusion that I shouldn't have said anything. This is my 1st time for being a pitboss admin so I hope you can forgive my too hasty interference. Main problem is that not all teams are reporting detailed enough for me to see beforehand their intentions. This makes the situation unfair to all active teams.
That chat log made me sad. We can't take Ulundi this turn? But all their units are damaged from fighting us during their half. Delaying will just give them a chance to promote and heal! Let's finish this already... Well, I definitely trust our generals. Could we get a picture of the area? And then our struggles with Nobamba too?!?! This should have been an easy one for us to take. These d@mn war elephants are a real pain. I'm glad to hear we were able to take it in the end, and with good battle results. The only redeeming factor in that chat was RB pillaging their own cottages That gave me a good chuckle. How much of a threat are the Frenchies really going to be? Should we be worried? I really wish we had been talking to CivFr through this whole situation...
they used money to upgrade a wariour to impi and they got a general in this city so they spread experince betwenn units so they uniits werent that damaged.
Yeah, that makes sense then. I also just saw some screenshots that classical_hero took and I see that we're moving our Knights up from the south to join the attack on the city next turn. I couldn't figure out what extra units we would have next turn that we don't have now, but now it makes more sense. When will we take that undefended city in the north? Is there a reason we're waiting on it? Do we actually think they'd be dumb enough to grow it to size 2 before we attack so it won't auto-raze?
next tunr we will have 6 more knigs which can atack, wel some are damaged but doest mater will be very good to atack and some of our units can get a promo so can get heal, and we got there 2-3 more cats.
