Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.0

*thinks* a while back there was some talk about the quest victory causing crashes. Prolly around page 56 or something of this topic. Don't think there's a fix for it, though. Yet.

There's probably something I'm missing....

But I downloaded 1.22 patch then installed the WH2 mod... But when I go to run it... it satops after about 46% loaded and says file not found and exits the program....

"art\advisors\Karl-franz-all.pic" is the file....

Am I doing something wrong? Sorry if this is answered elsewhere....

I get the same exact error message. What gives?

Hmmm.. this is a bit strange problem.

1. Do you both have english version of the game? The mod doesn't work on localized (german, french, ect.) versions.

2. Did you install the game into the correct folders? (in another words, didn't modify the install path of the exe-file?)

3. Did you download also the patch (4,5 mb) of this mod?

4. Did you also install the c3c-patch 1.22 (not just download it :) )? You should install the c3c-patch before you install the wh2-mod.

5. The name of the file is actually Karl-Franz_all.pcx - it should be located in the advisors-folder.

Another question, did you install 2.0 of the mod, or just the 2.02 patch? Just installing 2.0 should work flawlessly, and already has for numerous users.

Yes, I dl'ed and installed everything. Though I did jack with where the files went to. Once it didn't work, I moved the files from the Conquests folder to the Scenario folder.

So, you install a mod, move half the files to a different place in the computer, and then wonder why it doesn't work? :crazyeye:

The installer place everything where it should be, so stop sticking the fork in the socket just to see the sparks. :p

This mod has no problems on my system. All 3 of my computers play this mod fine.

All I want to find now is the .wav for the settlers. It makes no sense why a truck would be barreling across the landscape here. Anyone have any idears?

I searched in the Civ III dir for *settler*.wav, got 50 some results, none of which were what I was looking for. I'd gladly swap out the .wav for something more ear friendly, however I just can't find the file! Imagine that last sentence delivered like Mr. Scotty. Yeah, but I am a total newb on customizing. I am pretty computer savvy, I just have zero experience with this. I imagine there is a graphic file and a sound file for each. Like I said, I did that *settler*.wav search in the root civ iii dir, with nothing. Perhaps it is listed as another name.

MovingVanRun.wav there you are! Why oh why would a moving van even be in the Middle Ages? Many thanks.

Just finished my second game with this mod. Boy does it rock! Man, this is great!

I was playing Chaos. My cionclusions may be based on my particulars. I didn't find flesh hounds useful; I thought he Chaos chariots wee better for the same cost. However, I had plenty of citites so the free flesh hound support didn't matter very much. Also, I had horses. So a 6-2-2 with +1 hit point seems better than a 6-3-2.

Also, the demons are very strong but I'm not sure they are worth the cost. I suspect the key is using their demon gate ability.

Anyway, the flexibility of the game just amazes me! Kudos to everyone involved! Its hard to think of how this can be any better!

Come to think of it, on the first page he said there are 26 playable city-states. I only have 23 on mine.

Breunor,
I didn't see Chaos as a playable faction. How'd you do it?

I'm not a technical guy -- It was a choice. I got it randomly. It may have a different name but I don't think so.

VERY weak early, crushingly powerful later.

It's a playable civ on mine too. Did you remove some of your civs? You said you only had 23. It wouldn't require the latest patch because they have always been in the mod.
