Warlord- Egyption succession Game

Here is the save game - I'll post the summary in a while but Igor go ahead and play! - Very boring reign - made contact with a lot more civs, founded 1 new city and have two more settlers on the way. Keep up the expansion, and it also looks like we'll get the Pyramids! :D

If anyone is interested, here is my summary, although the next turns have already been played. Sorry about the smoke alarm thing - I'll be better from now on I promise... :p

1250 BC: Pre-turn: As I sit at my desk several things enter my mind. Actually only one. Make babies. And then I think about the game. We should make babies to produce settlers - We are still in the land-grabbing phase and we need to try and get as much as possible! In other news, the Americans give us 90 gold for Mysticism, and I took it since all the other Civs already had mysticism so I figured they'd get it sooner or later anyway. Our science rate is boosted to 80%.

1225: A mighty warrior produced in Memphis. Switching to settler. A temple is constructed in Elephantine.

1200: Brown borders sighted in the West. We already have contact with these "Russians", but no we know where they live too! Our intrepid warrior is reduced to 1hp in the east by nasty accursed loathing smelly barbarians! :aargh3:

1175: Our impressive cultural borders in Heliopolis expand. The Iroquois are constructing the Pyramids. :egypt:

1150: Heliopolis produces a warrior - settler started. Makin babies...

1125: This game is fun, did you guys ever notice?

1100: Lots of irrigation finished - I really like industrial civs. Our citizens are reorganized to facilitate baby-making and food.

1075: French sighted near Alexandria - I'd like to make babies with them! Iron working finished - we have 2 deposits close by! :mwaha:

1050: We have 3 more techs than Frenchies...

1025: More wheat discovered near Alexandria. I notice Thebes will go into unrest next turn, so I hire dancing girls there ahead of time and avoid unrest completely! Damn I'm good! :goodjob:

1000: Alexandria produces a temple, starts worker to connect Ivories.

975: Memphis produces settler... Moving towards flood plains to create settler factory. Gaul Tribe teaches us horseback riding - we have no horses! :vomit:

950: Ho hum... La La..

925: Our 1hp warrior defends another attack! Bravo! Horses and grassland in the NE.. Can we get them?

900: Heliopolis produces Settler, Alexandria produces worker, we disperse the Phoenician encampment = 25 gold!

875: A Japanese warrior found to the NE!!! :ninja: We trade them horseback riding for 70gold + 1g/turn.

850: Japanese are near the horses! Pi-Ramesses founded in MAJOR food production area - producing 5 surplus food at size one! Once expanded, however, will have lots of hills to make it a good production city also!!!

825: The Americans contact us, offering contact with the Romans for our contact with the Russians... we re-negotiate, and instead we trade them contact with Russians and Iroquois (2) for contact with English, Aztec, Zulu, Romans (4)! Good deal. I go around and offer communications to everyone else - we make about 75 gold off the trades. We are in 4th place currently overall...

800: France establishes an embassy with us! Wow, free embassy! I don't establish any more quite yet - the next ruler is free to do so.

775: Americans approach from the South - I thought it was all coast that way oops! Looks very mountainous...

750: A few civs have Philosophy, and we don't...

730: My last turn. We have 2 settlers ready to go and more on the way. It looks like we will get the pyramids also. Keep up the settler production - I think things are going great!!!

I've had a look, and wow, we must have contact with all the civs! :D Here's my suggestions igor, do what you like with them. Anyone else feel free to do these or not.

-Try and get those horses near alexandria.
-Settle 2 or 3 more cities between alexandria, and then some around it, could be a good place for the forbidden palace.
-Continue The Mining Project( ;) ) around elephantine, that place will grow slowly, but will probably have the best production. Maybe set Thebes to workers after the pyramids, and add to ele's population??
-Get the Great Wall! :) Then build walls. To help against barbs.

Good luck igor!

All in all a pretty boring turn involving worker movement and warrior exploration

710 BC Aztecs are building the Oracle. Barbarian spotted north of Smolensk. Road completed to iron at ele. Moving settlers towards Alexandria fro settlement

690 BC Some worker movement. Found barb camp north of Smolensk. Warrior ambushed north of Smolensk. Dies. Mining around ele started

650 BC French are building the Colossus. Got 50 gold from a Myecan tribe. Some exploring. Spear replaces warrior at pi-ramesses

630 BC Some exploring.

610 BC Temple in Alexandria finished. Start walls. Road to Alexandria nearing completion.

590 BC Some exploring and settler movements

570 BC Russians start Pyramids. Ours is done in 5 turns

550 BC Nothing special

530 BC Settler finished in Memphis. Start walls. Ele produces spearman. Start walls. Alex has culturally expanded. Giza built south of Alexandria. Start temple. Sent a spear towards it

510 BC Some minor warrior movement

490 BC Pi-Ramesses produced settlers. Start temple. Road to Alex completed. Finally the settlers can move towards it faster. Found horses near Memphis. Some more mining around ele

470 BC Pyramids completed in Thebes. Started temple. We have entered a Golden Age. Yaay. Otherwise some warrior movement. All the civilizations have started buildin the oracle

I think I’ll stop here so someone can make good use of the Golden Age. I’ve started to move most settlers towards Alexandria although the spot east of Memphis with the horses isn’t that bad either. Still no eastern border in sight.

Nice work. I see you started building walls. :) Seeing as everyone else is building the oracle, maybe we should try for the great wall??

And something I've started doing in my games, is whenever we trade our luxuries, or get right of passage, try and get gold per turn. If they don't like that, try and get a lump sum. Lets keep them broke.

should post in a couple of hours.
Golden age Yupeee
I hope I dont blow it

Alright Guys, we are doing great, lol charliehoke, once it gets to my turn I'll be squirting babies like crazy. Just one thing though, should we go for monarchy? I want to cause we need to invade our rivals soon.

I am sorry I cant write a detailed summary now. I am in a little bit of a shock right now about writing and its getting real late.
I though that the golden age be served more if we can grow peacfully in it so I didnt start any wars.
In my first turn I bought math + communication to greeks, chinese, babs, indians from the russians for 230 gold.
then I sold math to rome, aztecs and English for 110 gold and 9 gold per turn as total.
then I bought philosophy from the Iriquois for 106 gold
sold it to Germans, Japs,Frensh, indians, greece for a total of
119 gold and 8 gold /turn
What a trade!!
:D :D
I adjusted science for mapmaking to come in one turn and I got 29 g/turn. I kept doing this till the end and I sometimes got 50gold/turn income.
To make a long story short I expanded like crazy on the northen border ending in adding 6 more cities.
We now have iron and horses.. as I speak we are making chariots and swordsmen.
all border cities either have temples or are building them.
I am building the GL in thebes but the whole world is building that too. I am cutting forest near thebes to help with the ten sheilds. only 17 turns to finish GL. I hope we finish it first.

Traded some territory map but never world map.but I got some civs world map.
Japan and france threatened us but I told them to shove it, and they did .
:D
We are second in Histo after Romans. yupee.
I think its time for war against our northen neighbours but I would get them to fight each other first.
China finished the oracle but I never tried building it anyway.

there is unclaimed gems and furs to the east and north east respectively I think we should claim them.
:egypt: :egypt: :egypt: long live Egypt.

I suggest we switch Thebes from the gl to the great wall(If we have contstruction, if not, get it fast ;) ). I've been reading about the cascade in other posts, so seeing as the other civs are building the gl, if we build the great wall, it could cause them to waste shields.

And good going on founding all the cities. :D LayZMan, you're up, good luck!

I started the Great Library one turn after the Americans. I guess with us being Industrial CIV and Having our Golden age we might have caught up and taken a lead over the others. I am optimistic
about completing the GL before them. But it wont hurt to have construction as a stand by.:goodjob:

P.S. We can establish an embassy with the most powerfull CIV's and have a look at their capital. they will probably be building the GL there so we can know where we stand in the race.
My suggestion is to start with Rome and America. France and Japan could be next on the list.

I think we should invade russia, there cities are close to our capital and we should use our war chariots before they get useless or we get knights.

We don't even need to do that. ;) Just hit F7 I think it is, that shows you what wonders have been constructed, and where other wonders are being constructed. That way if they aren't building it in there capital, we won't have wasted any money. :D

It also depends on whether we have construction or not. If not, how many turns will it take? We don't want another civ to finish the gl b4 we get construction. That would be bad. :( I haven't looked at the latest save yet, so I don't know.

I was going for monarchy

I had a look, and I think it was 18, while the gl had 14 turns left. If we are absolutely certain of getting it, no problems, but if we won't, slow the building of it, by turning citizens into scientists or whatever(without having a shortage of food), and switch to construction, at 100% sci. We have plenty of cash(700 odd), so can afford a deficit for a while. :) Hopefully we can get the gl, and sit on 0%sci for a while. :D If we don't, and haven't got construction by then, goodbye to all those shields!:cry:

Alright, guess I'll do my thing tomorrow.
