There seems to be a persistant information bug in the new Warlords game.

Steps to reproduce:

(1) Load the Alexander scenario.
(2) Get Alexander killed.
(3) Act like a weenie and retire.
(4) Go to main menu, restart Alexander scenario
(5) Wait 5 (or 6) turns, bam, you get a second Alexander.

Expected Behaviour:

Since Alexander died in my first game, he probably shouldn't have come back healthy in my second game!!!

Seriousness of Bug: MAJOR

There is anecdotal evidence, posted in:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=4321747&postcount=43
that a similar bug also occurs in the Viking Scenario. When you plunder a city for the second time, setting the flag that you can no longer demand ransom, a game reload does not re-set this information, and you can no longer demand ransom in the loaded game.

If this anecdotal evidence is true, then there seems to be a major problem with loading a game or starting again playing the same scenario, possibly no matter what the scenario; certain information is not getting re-initialized that really really should...

This behavior is intended. Or rather, if the unit attached to Alex dies, Alexander is "severely injured" and will need some time to "heal" and then he'll reappear.

The problem is, that he is starting a NEW GAME. (alexander being killed in one game shouldn't affect the next ... basically some variable is not being reset between games)

Yes, thank you; the problem is not Alexander coming back in the same game after he dies. The problem is Alexander coming back in a NEW GAME, which means you then have two Alexanders -- the one from GAME2, and the reincarnation of the injured Alexander from GAME1. Very very bad....

If this were happening in the OMENS scenario, I might wonder if it were intended, but as it is, I think not :-)

Same thing for me.
BTW persians are too strong. I couldn't beat them with Warlord difficulty. THis scenerio is REALLY hard...

This is a bit off-topic for the bugs section, but I thought it was OK in terms of difficulty. I didn't use Alexander very well (didn't really get a lot of XP with him, and never got another title other than the one you get when you add Alex, as a great general, to a single unit), but otherwise found it OK.

The big thing is, the other end of Persia is *really* far away, so you can't get bogged down (or you need absolutely massive numbers of companion cavalry).

I found that stacks of catapults were invaluable, with phalanxes and hypastists protecting them.

Also, protect those first two guys with the sentry upgrade; they'll give you a heads-up about the Persians.

The great thing about the scenario is that the research tree gets you the promotions, which is a key element; I got smoked when I was trying to get the horse upgrades first, because I couldn't take out cities; getting the barbarian researches and building the barbarian barracks can make a big difference in how easy it is to take out cities, and you have to take out a lot of them :-)
