Warlords: game crashing when trying to start the game with mod

Have you applied the patch (2.08)? Are you talking about official mods (the included scenarios) or fan-made mods or both? And please be more specific as for when/how does it crash, at which point of loading, etc.

I gave found this problem too but only on latest Warlords GoM. I have downloadded patch 2.08 and HoF 2.08.001. When opening the game from the site it crashes out of warlords with the following message - ' Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Program Civ4Warlords.exe This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.'
Anyone got any ideas please?

I would note that these games have always loaded fine previously and Warlords will play normally so I assume a problem with the HoF mod.

For problems with the HOF-mod please post them here so they get fixed if possible

I have encountered similiar problems with mods that were done for Warlords 2.00 and crashed when I tried to load them in 2.08 - so that might explain some of those crashes mentioned above...

If it is a specific mod - a good way would be to post your problem in the specific thread, but out of curiosity: which one is it?

I am also having this problem and am not able to load any mods. The mods I have been tring to load are XXL World and Civics balancer phase 3 .

I have been suffering from the same problem also. The mods that came with the game work fine, but EVERY user-made mod I have tried does not work. I've had to uninstall Warlords in order to play with custom modifications again. Very frustrating, makes me wish that I had not bought it.

EDIT: Oh, and the game is fully patched, US version.

Did you use the most recent releases? ViSa should work for the patched Warlords version now... Otherwise for mods a good place to look for possible solutions are the respective mod threads...
